UPDATE: I Got Screwed By RJ Performance. Update 3-7-11

Here is the Original Post for a refresher and for those who dont know.
I got screwed by RJ Performance, Thanks Jason

Here is the Update:

I dropped my car off at Kurgan Motorsports in Braselton, GA on 2/19/11.
Bob Kurgan was nice enough to meet me later in the afternoon when it was good for me to bring the car up. After a little while of BS'ing around, Bob, Bart and myself talked about the car and what was going on. Bob told me that they were going to be wrapping up another customers car and would get on mine about mid week. Which I was already happy about because to be honest i didnt care if it took them three weeks to get to it.
Well, Tuesday afternoon, I was informed that my motor was already out of the car and in the process of tear down. Wow, man i was surprised. These guys waste no time.
So early Wednesday, Bob called me to info me of the good news......
I didnt really know what to expect from the tear down but I was hoping for the best.

But, no such luck.
#5 Rod bearing has spun. Causing about a 1/16th gouge in the crank the full width of the rod.
#1 Rod bearing was damn near on the verge of spinning. Bearing was pretty scarred up.
Remaining 6 rod bearing showed a good bit of Pre-Mature wear. Some worse than others, but 1 and 5 being to worse.
#5 had so much play, the piston actually contacted to head. At this point we think both head and piston are fine, but will leave it up to Pro Line to decide.
Everything else looks good, no head problems as of yet, looks like everything was oiled properly. Motor had plenty of oil in it. Never ran low. And ONLY 700 MILES on the BRAND NEW MOTOR. Can anyone explain this to me?

We will know more as soon as Pro Line gets a hold of the Motor. I have only talked to the "BUILDER" once since I posted the first post about it. And he still shows no concern.

But I will be sure to Update this as the Rebuild continues.

On a side note, A HUGE thanks goes out to Bob and Bart at Kurgan's, Yall have been great and A lot of help through the last couple of Month's. :

I am going to post some crappy pics now, and hopefully some better pics later.

Blake

UPDATE 3-7-11.

I got a Call from Matt at Pro Line today. I guess I got the news I was expecting.

Crank is Shot. The bearing messed it up enough that it would cost more to fix it than it would to buy a new one. Only bad part is that the Crank is Back Ordered for over Two Months.

I will be able to use all of the Rods and Pistons. No damage to any of them. Well, minus the reconditioning of one Rod.

Heads and Cams look Great. No problem with them, no oiling problem up top.

Looks like all that will be needed is a new crank, all bearing and All Machine work and Labor.

We have a reason for the problem, but im kinda waiting to hear Back from Jason (the Builder).
He has actually been keeping in contact with me the last couple of weeks to see whats going on with me motor and what has happened to it. So, we will see how it goes.

As Expected, Kurgan's has been Great through the whole process and puts up with me when I pop in from time to time. I went up today and Picked up the Timing chain cover, valve covers, upper intake hat and throttle body and dropped them off the be Powder Coated. Cant wait to see it all back together.

Thats all for now.

HAHA, my bad Bob.

Bob at Kurgan Motorsports let me know as soon as he heard from Pro Line. He set me up to talk with Matt and Proline. Kurgan's always stays on top of things and gives nothing but the best Customer Service.

UPDATE 4/14/11

Crank is Ordered and On the way to Pro Line and one new Rod.

A HUGE THANKS goes out to Mike S. at Livernoise Motorsports. Even though these cranks were on back order until the middle of May, Mike was able to find me the crank I needed and was able to get me a killer deal on it. Mike and Kyle at Livernoise went out of there way to help get this Re-build back on the road. Thanks Again Guys.

Another BIG THANKS goes out to Eric and Matt at Pro Line Racing. They have been in constant contact with me throughout this whole process and kept me up to date with everything that was going on with. And Im sure they will do a great job with the Remainder of what is left to do with the Shortblock. And they didnt cuss me out when I know i have been bugging the crap out of them. Thanks!

Yup, That's about it, OH, another thanks to the crack heads at Kurgan's for not parting out my junk that's in there way......... J/p. Cant wait to get the short block back to the shop so Bob, Bart and Mitch can work there Magic. Hey BOB, I vote that David needs a better chair. And a hair cut.....

More Updates to come.....

Update: 4-20-11
Dropped the Crank and new Rod off at Pro Line. Really nice to meet all the guys up there. Couldnt ask for better customer service. Found out the heads had a little trash in them. But no harm was done. But I appears that nothing was really gone through in the heads like they were suppose to. But, i know Pro Line will get my junk back to where it needs to be.

UPDATE 4-26-11

I swung by Kurgan's yesturday (26th) to pick up my old set of headers and swap out the tail lights on my car. While standing there waiting on Bob to get off the phone, I hear David behind me talking to Eric at Pro Line. Turns out, my motor and heads are done.

SO, block and heads are done at Pro Line, I am going by Friday to pick them up and take them to Kurgan's. So in a matter of two weeks, my car should be done. On a side note, anyone wanna donate to the get the Mach back fund? Ha.

Big thanks again to Pro Line and all the guys there. I really appreciate everything. More news to come....
