Good Mustang repair shops in Virginia Beach/Norfolk area?

So... MAS is closed down in Virginia Beach. Dynotune Performace in Chesepeake doesn't do major engine work. I don't trust Steen Racing.

I need to take my stang into a reputable shop to do probably major engine work. I have ticking sound coming from the lower end of my engine, possibly a spun rod bearing. It's been sitting in my garage not being driven at all while I've waiting to file my tax return.

Now that I have the extra cash to play with I want to get it in the shop ASAP. MAS was the only place that I trusted, but since they are now closed down, can any of you Tidewater guys recommend a good place?

Car repair shops are a dime a dozen around here, I know, but I will only take my car to a reputable and recommended place since it probably requires major engine work.

The only place I have on my list of shops right now is Azalea Garden Super Service center, my buddy Chad told me he has a friend that works there named Matt that is a Mustang guy.

Thanks for any info/tips you guys can provide.

Their address is 1808 George Washington Memorial Highway, in Yorktown, VA. I called today and talked to Rodney who I think is the owner or at least the guy that runs the place, I'm getting my car towed up there tomorrow. Hopefully they work out OK.

They have a web site, it's pretty basic right now since they just started, it is:

Give us a call at Rick's Car Care and talk to Rick. He is Twist 2 Go on here. He's one of the most trusted techs in the tidewater area especially with Fords. He just started his own shop and took me on and we should be officially open within the next couple weeks hopefully. It's not a tuning or specifically high performance shop but we all have experience with engine work overall. Give him a call here at the shop and see what he wants to do.

Yeah I was there when you were paying him. That was pretty much the night I got hired, lol. You have a nice looking car, btw. I don't see many mustangs I like with 20" wheels but those fit well.

I already am scheduled to have my car towed up to Rocket Performance tomorrow morning. It sucks you're not open yet. I will definitely keep Rick's in mind for future work. Let us know when you're open.

Damnit, now I'm torn on where to go. Sean from MAS also offered to do the work on the side as well. I just want to get the car fixed already, make sure it's a good job, and not pay out the ass.

i just got my 3.73's installed today by rick. so far i have to say i'm totally satisfied with them. rick did the install in about an hour and a half. rick specializes in trannies and rear ends, but said he does everything, so whatever you need, give him a call.

btw, screemin302, i thought your car looked familiar in the parking lot!
