I might be going, I really would like to see this showdown. Nov. 3 is my birthday so that would be an awesome present. It all depends on our schedule in general and most importantly my dad's schedule work wise.

I got it running in February and raced in Bradenton with Rench (ART) Papitto built the motor. 11.59 on ET Streets in class trim.
New set of ET Drags just for the Charlotte event. ![]() I took on an additional 70 LBS because of the block. I have since worked on weight reduction to offset. Suspension tweaks and drivetrain efficiencies since Bradenton. The summer has been strictly tuning to raise the NA bar once more. It appears that myself and Ron will be going for the gold. Settle the old debate: Bore vs Stroke....

S197 Mustang Shootout!
Hey guys! I am Spaz, one of the people organizing this event. My friend and partner in this event (Rench/Art) has started a thread about this here back in February. I am sure it has slipped into the archives... so I wanted to join in and say hello.
You can get full details, register, pre-pay, and get advice/information from the orginizers either on our website or by posting in our "Event" forum. I see there have been several threads started by more than a few members. I want to thank all of you for your interest and support. We hope to see you all there. Thanks, Spaz

Hey everyone, I wanted to touch base with you, just to clear a few things up. There has been some confusion over who is invited to come and play at this event. It is true that this event is focused on the “street driven” naturally aspirated 2005+ S197 Mustangs. Although this event only has trophy classes for 2005 and up Mustangs (NA and FI), this event is open to all Ford vehicles with a Ford power plant.
For any non-S197 vehicles or full blown race cars, you will be able to run Grudge Matches against your buddy (or nemesis) or run open time trials (like a rental or test & tune) between competitive runs. I hope this helps clear things up, I apologize for the confusion. I hope to see you all at the track. Thanks Again! Spaz

Hey Everyone! We are 3 months away from our race on Nov 1. I really appreciate all of the support you have given us with regard to this event. It looks like it is going to be a great time.
We are at a point where it is going to be crucial to get a good head count of racers. You don't have to pre-pay (although it is an option) but we really need people to pre-register. This is going to be important as far as concessions are concerned on track day, as well as the Halloween party the night before, the after party the day of, and things of that nature. This is a ZERO OBLIGATION process. Due to you not having to pay to pre-register, if something comes up and you can't make it for any reason, it is not a problem. However, we do want to make sure everyone has the best time possible. So we need a possible head count. If you have any interest in coming, please pre-register on the registration page of the event site at the link below. Shootout Registration - S197-Mustang.com Thanks Again! Spaz

Hey everyone, just a quick heads-up... The Street Jam Racing Series “2009 East Coast S197 Shootout” host by Five Guys Racing is just 3 weeks away!
If you haven't registered yet, check out the registration thread listed below. Shootout Registration - S197-Mustang.com If you would like to pre-pay as well, this will help you save a few dollars and get you all of your paperwork prior to the event. You can pre-pay at the link below. Registration We are really excited! This event will be incredible. Between our awesome sponsors, Mustang Enthusiast Magazine, and our friends at 1320 photography, we are going to have the track all day and have a lot of fun. Don't forget, this is going to be the ONLY event we have that is non-points based. Keep an eye on our site after this event and through the winter months, as we will be announcing or event line-up for next year to include the venues, the points system, series registration information, and the all important Heads-up Racing Classes and rules. Unlike 2009, all 2010 events will be based on vehicle modification classes and true, full blown, first guy across the line wins, heads-up racing. However, something that will not change is our dedication to you, the people and the cars. This series will continue to be operated at a zero profit margin and focus on "Street Driven" cars for the average Joe. We are doing this for you, and we can't do it without you. So, check us out on-line, and see you November 1st at Rockingham Dragway! Five Guys Racing
