Went To Pick n Pull Today...

went out to pick and pull today so got to see what was on the lot...

had a 4.6L thunderbird that was fairly unmolested that we took some of the fuseable links from and snipped some of the wiring from the distribution block, also saw several 3.8L thunderbirds.. had a fox 4 banger with most of the suspension left, had a 3.8L cougar, also had a 5.0L speed density f-150 with not much left, saw a 5.0L work van too with what looked to be most of the motor without the intake tube.

anyways we snatched a seatbelt for a chevy work van and about 13 fusable links and the associated male wiring for $9

nope no m90 supercoupes or cougars... but i was looking! there was plenty of single port stuff, including intake manifolds, heads, fans, t-bird IRS, IAC's.... no mustang 8.8's the only one i found was on a old crown vic. no windstars either, but every other mini-van.

shit you can't beat $1 to go out and look through their shit... hell if you wanted you could dismantle a 3.8/5.0/4.6 just for fun... i just like looking at all the different stuff and also got a free airshow from the blue angels taking off from oceana they werepracticing for the airshow on fri-sat.

I'm going to have to remember that... Virginia beach, so it's near First Colonial on Virginia Beach Blvd? Do they have any Mustang GT's? I need some interior pieces for my '99.

yeah if your going 264e get off at first colonial towards oceana, then take a left on virginia beach blvd/58 and then you take a right shortly there after onto sykes avenue, down on the left.

only saw 1 mustang which was an older 4 cylinder fox body... but no other stangs! as for prices it cost's $1 to get into their yard and what ever you pull is cheap and they offer a return policy so if you get home and what you pulled doesn't work you can take it back. there were late model vehicles there, but most were economy cars like neons and tauraus's no camaro's either. they will also help you with parts interchange info. IMO it is worth the $1 to just go there and look around and laugh, felt like i was on a redneck treasure hunt.

Johnsons Mustang and Truck in Portlock off of Bainbridge. Just make sure you know what the stuff is worth before you go and just get stuff. He will sometimes try to rip you off. They only take cash and checks. But hey I got a brand new wheel for my car when I cracked my wheel for $78 and other places were quoting me like $125-$300+

They have a pretty good selection. I was gonna check em out for a mach 1 restoration, but never got around to it. They had 2 out there, and were in pretty good condition for rottin away in a junkyard. They even had some bullitts to buy. 4 brand new for like $650 for 17x8. They got a couple Mustangs out front for sale, and then plenty in back to pull apart.

Johnson's probably has 50 mustangs in various stages of parting out. Know what you want before you go and ask for a price before you go pull it. They will quote on the phone prices for parts. If you don't you'll spend a couple hours pulling parts to find they want the parts weight in gold.

J's Mustang will rip you off in a heartbeat. I won't even go there unless I ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT find the part I need. Pick and pull half the time doesn't even know what the hell they are looking at when they price the part you bring them I have never had any problems there.

I don't think so. Customer service there is lacking to say the least.
