whenever you are in a military town they are all kind of sick of pulling over military guys so they don't hesitate to write tickets..

but when i'm back home they hand the ID back to me & give me the "thanks for serving, our country needs you so don't kill yourself in your car" speech & i'm off.

I visit N. Myrtle every summer since I'm not too far. I can see why the cops are a little anal there as it is a huge family vacation spot and major party spot for the twenties and younger crowd. So you have rowdy people all over cruising and raising hell right next to couples with families so they get a little nervous and will come down hard on "lawbreakers". You really can't blame them as they can't let things get out of hand but I sympathize with you. As an aside many years ago when I was driving through kansas on the way to Montana and my first duty station (Air Force) an old trooper stopped me at 2 am while I was driving the deserted highway at 100 mph and saw I was a military man (punk really) just told me to get some coffee and slow down and let me off, pretty cool.

it's all in good fun if done right, but i hate it when people really are degrading... like in high school i was in ROTC & a marine recruiter was talking to the class & asked me if i was going to join a service & i said the AF & he started saying that the AF is a bunch of pussies

& what not.. my dad was an aeriel gunner in the AF in vietnam on a huey so i fired back to him "i dont think there was a single marine in vietnam calling my dad a pussy when he pulled their asses outta a firefight in the jungle." & he didn't have anything to say about that!
