i just figured out how to shift using my auto... how hard is it on it to wrap it around, i lost to a 1999 mustang with a superchip in it yesterday by a length and almost a half (without the chip i woulda beat him) and he told me how to shift it... i used to shift it but i never really got it, so i was slowin myself down. but now that he taught me better, i fly like a bat outta hell and bark 2nd LOL!!
Sorry man. Im calling on this one. there is NO WAY IN HELL you beat an ss cobalt on a stok 3.8 the cobalt is pushing 300 hp. unless he hit a tree on take off and you passed him. no way.
hit a tree, spit out my coffee and lmfao

Power shifting is something you do with a manual transmission. It's the act of holding the accelerator to the floor, and then slamming the clutch down while you simultaneously shift gears without lifting your foot off the accelerator pedal. You typically start the shift just below your redline so that for the instant your clutch is disengaged you don't over-rev the engine. The advantage in this is that you perform a much quicker shift, which keeps your engine's rpm's up higher where you have more power.
Power shifting does not add power, it simply keeps you in your power band by not letting the rpm's drop down low.
This is something that takes practice, since you run the risk of over revving your engine, especially if it's a car without an electronic rev limiter, and you run the risk of smashing the ever-loving shit out of your tranny. It's also incredibly hard on the clutch, more so with the more power your car has.
You cannot power shift an automatic transmission. All that can be done with an auto is preload the torque converter, which means keeping your foot on the brake while you bring your rpm's up to just below where your power starts (vary's from car to car & engine to engine),so that when you take your foot off the brake while at the same time rolling on to the gas, you launch as hard as possible with as little wheel spin as posssible, while also not bogging the engine down because the rpm's were too low.
Other than that, the only thing that can be done with an automatic is to use the shifter manually to keep it in each gear, and even then some auto's only have a 1st & 2nd gear selector, and then drive.I'm talking about stock traannies here, not full race automatics, so yes, I know those can be very different.
justin, taking your stock 6 up that high in the power band isn't making your car faster, all it's doing is putting incredible strain on an engine that isn't designed to spin that fast when it's stock.
The race with a Cobalt also depends on how long you raced for, since the cobalt gets a little quicker up top, meaning you might jump him at a light, especially if he can't shift well, but his car will come on far stronger than yours as the race goes deeper, and he was probably pulling closer to you as the race went on.
I'm not calling you out saying you won or lost, since I could really give a rats ass, as many faster cars lose to slower cars due to driver differential, I just thought I'd fill you on on what true power shifting is.
God damn I love bench racing in the morning while drinking coffee. lol

we were racing in something close to the 1/8th. i had him somethin terrible from start, and then he was steady with me. we got to around 80 i think. the place to race down here is in front of a factory called Nordyne. big factory, and after you race 2 times, you leave. or u get caught. simple as that lol. he messed up the first time and pretty much killed it (he started in 3rd on accident instead of 1st), and the second time... well... he just grandma shifts and doesn't know good rpms to do it at. he shifted way too soon in 1st, he burned out of course, and shifted as soon as the rpms got to like 5000 rpms i suppose, not knowing to let it catch first before you shift because your rpms go up just because of wheel spin... so his 2nd started off a drag too. i got about 2 cars ahead of him right there, then he kinda caught up to about 1 and a half lengths and then we stayed there for rest of race.

LMAO wow im surprised no one caught that video
you still didnt hit 75 in 2nd gear!
theres no way you went all the way to 110 in third gear! its a mustang not a mclaren.

lol so there was only 1 gear before the last shift which lead to 110 which was third gear! thank you very much
i rest my case
you probably started ou in second some how.

you've proved nothing but how wrong you are, and the video shows more about your HUGE LACK of knowledge to your own car.

who run it?
itschristorres8 does

bow down and kiss my feet,
but only when there dirty cuz your not worthy if there clean

no?
wat are you talking about?

if your sayin he started in first then your also sayin he went to 110 in 3rd gear....
the Konesiegg tops out at 130 in 3rd gear. theres not a chance in hell his car could do that with out serious mods.
and it woulda been 0-110 in like 7seconds or less

lol ur so dumb. get over it. if i started in 2nd, then it definately wouldn't have caught speed that fast, and nobodys car only goes 45 in second, which is what you're saying if i started in 2nd gear, because my 1st gear shifts at 45.

see your deffinitly got everything all wrong, my second shifts at 45 about, my first wont reach 45! my 3rd hits about 75. and my 4th will go to about 110ish

dude you dont know your own car. my car can catch FAST to 45 in 2nd

shut up cuz you dont know. dont tell me to get over it. YOUR WRONG! the video proves it. if what your sayin is right then you had to have gone to 110 in 3rd gear which YOUR CAR WILL NOT DO! no mustang will do that stock or barely modded like yours
your an idiot

I've read about four pages of this crap until I started laughing my ass off. The only thing this guy can beat is his meat. Enough said, I think we should all just drop it cause 14 pages of this fucking crap is not worth it. I'm dying of laughter and I can't bring myself to read anymore.
