I beat it!

Hey guys as hard as it is to believe, i beat a Supercharged SS Cobalt today! lol and all i have is the 1998 3.8L... I ran it HARDDDD lol. my cousin just got the car and he's not really good at shifting it yet. i beat him by almost two car lengths.
i just figured out how to shift using my auto... how hard is it on it to wrap it around, i lost to a 1999 mustang with a superchip in it yesterday by a length and almost a half (without the chip i woulda beat him) and he told me how to shift it... i used to shift it but i never really got it, so i was slowin myself down. but now that he taught me better, i fly like a bat outta hell and bark 2nd LOL!!

the cobalt is running 14.4 in the 1/4 mile. your 98 stock is 17.3

to beat him you would need the equivalent of the 98 SVT (which is running 14 flat) to beat him.

no way

if the driver of the cobalt ss sucks as bad as he says then it is possible to beat one. i have a 96 3.8 with only a CAI and i beat a 99 3.8 manual... those cobalt ss's are quick but a bad driver can make it a decent race

BS the whole thing
a 99 vs your 98 you'd lose by morethen just a car and half
shifting with your auto isnt helping...its in your head so stop unless you wana buy a new tranny
the colbolt guy cant drive nor can the guy in the 99
put me in that 99 with a 5speed and i'll see you by 5+in my review

i raced a 98 w/exhaust, intake and a chip and won by 3 cars when i was stock.

ooh and this"and yes he has the 205 hp one,
and i wrapped my rpms all the way up untill it bounced (which was like 5700)"

ISNT A GOOD IDEA. and theres something wrong with your auto if it lets you rev that high

i beat a 99 3.8 (as said above) from a dead stop... he was a manual and sucked at shifting and i got an awesome jump, so it is possible. against a good driver the 99 would have stomped me tho lol. i can see how it could be possible for him to beat the cars as he said, but both drivers would have to be horrible

yea the 99+ years have 40 more horses than our sn95's to stock. So he must have been a bad driver as well. Also dual exhaust doesn't help as much as you think it does.

im not giving u my number. Sorry, I just find it too hard to believe. O, BTW, stop powershifting your car. your gonna seriously screw up your transmissions. Auto's are made to be put in a gear and left in that gear. Save yourself some cash, and just drive it normally. You will get better performance by leaving it in drive. With powershifting, your leaving your powerband (especially at 5700[which it shouldnt of let you hit anyway]). With leaving it in drive, your see better performance. The only time to downshift it is when your in overdrive and wanna haul ass up a hill or something.
