raced n srt4 today last night :)

srt4 has a wastegate and i have flowmasters(2002 gt 5 speed) we did a 40 roll untill about 130 and he beat me by a car and then we did a first gear roll around 20 unitl 130 and i beat him by half a car! i loved it!

it made my night

My friend has a SRT-4 stage 2 with some other add ons and I have a stock mach 1, from a roll we are even we have tried it from a roll many times and we just get stuck together. lol I should take him from a straight launch but well... I suck at driving so I need to practice that. lol

Yeah those SRT4's are pretty darn quick; guy that leaves in my town has one that runs 12.9s on street tires. its embarrassing to loose to a neon.

yea but the srt-4 are not fast than the 99=04 mustangs they are a good race stock for stock, PLUS mustangs modify much better

Yea FastBack71 you are on crack.... SRT-4's are soooooo easy to modify... And as most stang owners know, short of power adders its not easy to get extra horses out of a stang....

they're faster stock then the new edge GTs
and easy to get power...very easy

any car with a power makes a good platform for more power easy

ha. i rode in one 2day with a boost controller and he runs low 12s. thats all he has. that car pulls like nothing i have ever rode in besides a cobra. but he runs like 10s. lol. the srt4s are fast as hell

I just looked up the 03-05 srt4 on one site, and that site has the same quarter mile time listed for the srt's and the 99-04 stangs.

but the site has a quicker 0-60 time for the srt.
03-05 srt=5.6---- 99-04 GT=6.1

srt-4 vs a gt is more or a less a drivers race but the srt-4 has the edge a bit

and BS on the low 12second SRT-4 with just a boost controller
my friends SRT-4 had a boost controller...put it up to 20psi and it blew. he had exhaust and a few other lil bolt ons and had a best of 12.8 with 18psi

More often than not an srt-4 will beat a 99-04 GT stock vs stock unless you are close to a professional driver and as for the 2005+ GT's those are really a drivers race I've seen both cars and have to say it's always a close call from a roll srt-4 would take a 05+GT from a dig thats where torque comes in and the 05 GT wins just my 2 cents!

i have seen the car run a low 12. i have also seen him beat mustangs that run 12.8 by 3 cars. unless he has gears or something. he does have exhaust but it wont drop it that much. also. some cars are just faster than normal. take for example. most stock auto 99+gts run in mid to low 14s. i have a friend that runs in the high 2 mid 13s bone stock. some cars are just faster from the beginning than others. also. the str4 is running 20psi

Can I ask you why it made your night? Not trying to bust your bubble or anything but it sounds like he had the upper hand.

At a 40 mph roll the torque advantage is diminished, so he was definitly at a disadvantage. A 20 mph roll in first brings the torque back into play alot more, so it helped him out. Stock for stock he should have lost.
