me vs. LS1 Z28


so me and my buddy finally raced. it wasnt from a dig, but you gotta make do with what ya got ya know?

Anyway story goes like this.

He came over to my house after he heard my car with the open mid pipe. He wanted me to do it to his. So I go under there, do all the stuff thats needed and put her back on the ground. Well he heads out and I told him to romp on it when he gets to the highway about 1/2 mile down my road.

It sounded sick as fuck. Well my step sister wanted me to go get her some DQ after that so I went on my car. I had put the catback back together right after school because I didnt like the loss in power. Well Im out driving with the windows down and hear some loud ass car up ahead. So I go a little faster to catch up and its him. Well we get stuck at a light and hes at the front of the line and I got stuck behind him.

He took off quick, but not fast or anyhting and i changed lanes to get right beside him. He had a friend in the car and i was just smiling. I was in 2nd gear at 40mph, dunno about him. Well his friend gives me the signal and we both punch it.

I put a half car on him by the top of 2nd and put a car length on him when i was half way through 3rd. When i heard his car, he was getting backfire from hell. Im sure the open midpipe thing KILLED him. He was getting a lot of backfire and I didnt want to brag about it, but he brought it up in school in front of people and told them I beat him. So I took that as "its time to brag."


Cliff Notes: He was running open midpipe. 40 mph roll. I put a car length on him by the middle of 3rd gear then shut it down.

Haha LS1's Flow extremely well..the open mid pipe made all that flow useless..lol Nice Kill..But more like Sabatoge..haha But still nice man!

Hey man he wanted me to do it.

he wantred the open midpipe and he wanted to race. his fault lol

also i think somethigns wrong with spark plugs. even normally hes getting some backfire. were gonna change out his spark plugs and o2 sensors soon

^have fun changing those plugs. i tried to do it to my friends ws6 with just basic tools. 2 hrs and 3 plugs later we took it to a mechanic.

yeah i know. ive looked at it already. you can only like see 4 of em with out beding way voer to look in the engine bay.

ive found something on installuniversity.com that does a complete walkthrough on the ls1 and changing spark plugs. doesnt look to hard really.

#8 looks liek a major PITA though.

What helps, if the problem is the plugs are so far deep from the valve cover, is if you have a socket that holds the plugs into it so you don't drop them way down and have to fish them out. Or if you don't have the special socket you can use a little tape to hold em in. Although Im not sure if that would the problem since that tends to be more of a problem with OHC engines not pushrods. Just a suggestion.

yea its not too bad. it look simple enough. but then you realize that your hand and wrench is bigger than the hole you have to fit it in. lol
