Me vs Lexus IS300- have not raced!

My has a friend who has one and he seen one today at the mall and was like that thing would blow ur car away.. And I said they have like 215hp stock no they wouldn't blow me away well , he told me his friend would put money on a race between us. So im wondering if I should take this deal or not. My mods Steeda cai, 93 OCTANE custom race tune from Doug at Bamachips,MRT aero turbine single exhaust (good for about 8rwhp as someone proved with a dyno sheet on another forum).
The lexus is stock.

i destroyed an is300 a couple days ago from about 30-80 i put about 3 cars on him and that was after he tried a ricer fly by and was already out a car length

so i think youd be able to take him by a couple lengths at least

I would be carefull putting money on it. Those cars must vary by years because theres one around me and it is fast. I thought it was odd for a lexus to have a fart can but that s.o.b. stayed with me till about 140 ( I was on my gsxr but just toying w/ him). If he has 215hp ya have close hp numbers but I think he is lighter.

You contradicted yourself when you said he stayed with you until 140, and then you said you were toying with him. Its hard to fully understand your statement.

I think you are going to take him! Off the line definitely, your car makes power slightly lower in the rpm range. Id go from a dig until 80 and let off, you wll have a good 2 cars on him

Same HP + more weight + more TQ = drivers race, but I would give you the edge.

i raced one of the new lexus's the is350 i think, from about 60-130ish i ended up about 3-4 cars in front, the guy told me he had exhaust and a tune. it ran pretty strong.

a tune would do nothing for him since he would need a full ecu piggy back or standalone, and with that few mods he probably hurt his hp

Depends on what year. If it's the one based on the new camry he may put up more of a fight than you expect. They're good for mid 14's.

What I ment was I didn't think he would be able to stay that close.I basicly took it as a joke, I didn't go all out I kinda just stayed in front of him but he suprised me. Obviously a gsxr 600 would smoke it no prob but he did much better than I expected.
