my '07 GT vs '95-98 Eclipse

Well I'm on my way to run some errands and I'm behind this ecplise at a stoplight. Well he takes off and I can hear his turbo/bov. So I drive next to him and pass him and mind my own business. Well what do you know I heard him downshift and he tried to do the very famous ricer fly-by. I stopped him dead in his tracks. Downshifted waited for him to get to my door and punched it. Couldn't catch up. We do about 3 more runs all from around 40-50mph. Every out come was me out ahead by 1-1 1/2 cars. Funny thing is was that his gf/wife or whatever was with him. We go to another light and said he couldn't get boost. I dunno if he was telling the truth or just embarrassed in front of his girl.

watch out for 2g dsm's man, those things can be made VERY fast for VERY cheap

dsm - diamond star motors, basically when chrysler teamed up with mitsubishi to make cars ( talons, eclipses, lasers)
1g - 1990-92 - narrow slits for headlights would be the first thing i would say characterizes them. 6-bolt motor could take a lot of abuse.
1gb - 93-94 - more rounded body than the 1gs. got a 7-bolt motor, which has somewhat of a reputation for crankwalk. when modded properly not big concern
2g - 95-98 - different body, same engines. heavier.
3g - 99-up - well these arent dsm's and are pieces of shit eclipses!

i would watch out for the 1gs just as much

sounds like a definite excuse. if there was something wrong with his car preventing him from getting boost, then he wouldnt be trying to race people.
