Centrifugal superchargers aren't quiet. Everybody I know who has one, the whistle is totally noticeable at idle. The only reason I don't recommend a Kenne Bell or a Whipple for you is because of your shaker hood. If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure I saw a Mach 1 online that had either a Kenne Bell or a Whipple ALONG with his shaker hood, but it was obviously non-functional. Prochargers are better than Vortech if you're aiming for higher numbers, but if you just want in the area of no more than around 500 HP, then you can just go with Vortech. I don't think you should be shooting that high anyway without touching your block, ESPECIALLY since you have such a high compression ratio (10.1:1.)
Listen to these videos - the first has a Procharger P-1SC, the second has a Vortech V-2 SQ:

Yeah, but that one is only loud when it kicks in. You can drive normally, stay off boost, and nobody will ever know you have a Kenne Bell or a Whipple. Another thing, twin screw superchargers don't waste gas while it's not in boost, so that's another plus, although gas mileage should be the LAST thing on your mind while modding your car
. Anyway, I've always loved that video, it's so fucking sexy!

My whistle is freaking loud at idle. The blow off vavle is crazy driving normal. It is only quiet on full throttle. Thats were I think they are advertising. If you are trying to hide the SC noise I doubt you want a procharger.
