LT4 vs a slow Mach 1

A buddy of mine from high school has a '95 Z28 that has a GM LT4 conversion kit and has been punched .30 over and has ported heads with nice cam. I have heard the car and I must say it sounds good, infact I get all hot and bothered over it. I would like to run him, but I need to some research 1st. I don't like to go into something like this blind, especially because knowing him the stakes will be high. (The last race we had was on snowmobiles, and it was over who was paying the bar tab that night. Thankfully I won , and later on he had to pay $363.00) He can drive pretty good, probably equal to me he might have the edge in that department. I have full boltons, but I'm thinking about getting a 100 shot to help if I may need it. I also just ordered an Aluminum Flywheel and Spec stage 2 clutch, firewall quadrant adjuster and heavy duty throwout bearing. What do you guys predict?

im not a fan of people using spray in races so no comment on that, lol.

i think u would have a good chance of beating him in a dig race. from a roll, i think he would get u.

what kind of rear tires are u two using?

he has cheap street tires, bigger than stock probably 275 and I have 295 BFG KDW2's, but I have my upper and lower control arms adjusted right finally, so the car is hooking extremely well.

It may do you some good to do some research on what exactly an LT4 conversion is before you listen to Will and race him for anything...

If that's what he has you'll probably need more than just the 100 shot...

And there is nothing wrong with using spray in a race. It's wrong if you don't tell the other guy and he finds out though... Then it's like cheating. But if both parties know it's there then what's the issue?

Yeah that's the kit he ordered at my house. I didn't think that those motors were that strong. he has those heads ported, and a custom cam not the cam that the kit came with, so it's beyond a stock LT4.

Yeah, I know, but I don't money for that right now. I just spent $900.00 today a clutch, flywheel, and quadrant. I need about $7500.00 to do want I want. I want a KB

an LT4 conversion kit includes an LT4 hotcam BTW......

his car is prolly pushing around 325-350rwhp with those heads ported and that cam. With full bolt on's, u should be in that same area as well.

sprayed u'll pull on him like no tomorrow, all motor and it's a drivers race.

He isn't putting down that much in his mach.
