Camaros and trans ams are EXACTLY the same. It's all in a driver, mods, or your mind.
Because coincidentally, the car this person had BEFORE the auto Z28 was a 98 LS1 'bird....and it was an auto that ran 8.4's with a catback and lid.

it may have been. the track i ran the lt1 at is closer to home and is a decent track. i ran 8.8 with the lt1 and 8.9 bone stock in the mach on bald streets. im hoping to get to go friday if it doesnt rain and ill see how the mach does with tires, shifter, tune, x pipe and exhaust, and intake

i must have got robbed then. as in my cars must have just been ragged the hell out. bc i got hardly any spinning, i got good reaction times ( which dont really matter on a et) there isnt much to running an automatic car at the track. the only factor would be spinning and i didnt get that . the reaction time doesnt matter on et's the time goes by when you roll off the line. its not driver error its aparently ragged out car error

ignore him. hes on his high horse tonite. he thinks hes barney bad ass for some reason with his big 5xx posts . posts dont even matter. hes basing his facts on what his friend did in this car with this and that and it was blah blah. fact is. ive had lt1 and ls1 mine must have been pieces of shit to run the times they did, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to run an automatic down the track. it takes skill to run a manual tranny car down the track with out spinning how ever. bc if u go slamming gears like most people do, u just spin like mad.

I never jumped on anybody ,I just wanted to see the vid.
Not once did i jump on him, maybe i used to much sarcasm for you but this is the same guy who joined a mustang forum and asked what would we think if we pulled up behind him at a stoplight. Like i said in my other post ,seeing is believing ,and every time you write a kill story expect there to be skeptics... |

I have respect for all cars. dont anyone get me wrong. im just telling my story from my experience in actually owning lt1 and ls1. btw these cars take very well to mods. headers can do wonders and a cam. unreal.

ah no wonder. those cars take very well to mods. and most cars definatly respond pretty nicely with headers. but on those things a full exhaust is a very great increase. a buddy of mine has a camaro ss with throttle body, intake, full exhaust( headers, y pipe and mufflers) and pulled the mach. they arent all that bad ass until 70+ really though. dont get me wrong they are bad ass. just their best point is 70+ or really just a roll race.

yeah the videos of my trans am. that was before my gear install. shortly after i installed a 3.73 gear but sold it before i got back to the track. I did have ebay intake, magnaflow mufflers and an exhaust cut out. which is why it was so loud in the video. not sure if that helped or hurt with the cut out but at the time i didnt have the electric motor for it so i didnt feel like crawling under and capping it just to see the difference. but yeah it ran 8.8 was my best but never over 8.9 . im curious to know what a difference the 3.73 gears would have made on it. o well too late now!
