Lexus kill and death by Dodge (sorta)

On the way home today I'm beside a new Lexus iS300 or iS350, I couldn't tell which model but it had a 3 in the model and it had very wide rear tires. We pull up to a stop sign and I look over at him. The driver has his girlfriend in the car and he's revving at me so we take off from the stop sign and it's on.

I didn't "launch", I just let out the clutch and floored it (no tire spin from the stock tires this way). I had him by about 3/4 of a car and that's about how it stayed. We ran up to about 90 and I couldn't pull past him but he never gained on me. I was just starting to maybe pull ahead when I backed down.

So how fast are those Lexus iS cars? My '08 GT is stock other than a C&L CAI and 93 Brenspeed tune and axle backs. I was a little surprised to see a 4-door Lexus staying with me like that. Didn't get a chance to talk to the guy to see if his car was stock, but it didn't have a fart can or anything and it wasn't loud.

About the death by Dodge, the other night I run out to Wendy's and on the way back I get caught behind a slow SUV. As I pull to th left to pass I see a SRT8 Charger behind me and as I pull around the SUV and get back into the right lane I see/hear the Charger roar.

I can see that the Charger is coming fast from about 3 car lengths behind me and I'm in 3rd gear at about 50 mph so I just floor it in 3rd (didn't want to spill my drink downshifting). The SRT8 had a running start and had down shifted but he pulled hard and I couldn't keep up in 3rd gear.

This wasn't a race, just a SRT8 roaring past me and me trying to catch up without downshifting, but I was impressed with the SRT8 power. He wasn't stock (at least not exhaust) because it was roaring loud, but it might have just been mufflers. How fast are those SRT8's anyway?

that lexus would have to be an IS350, as they don't make the IS300 ever since Japan emissions caused Toyota and and Nissan to drop their I6s.

IS350 has a 3.5L V6 that's stock @ 306hp. Not sure on the torque spec.

Looked it up, here's the spec on that V6:
The 2GR-FSE engine is rated at 306 hp (228 kW) at 6400 rpm and 277 lb·ft (376 N·m) at 4800 rpm.

The SRT8s are pretty bad. I have not seen any run but I have heard of them breaking into the high 12s just by adding sticky tires. Again, this is something I have been told, not witnessed.

Nice kill by the way.
