06 GT vs 07 R/T

Well, I put a post up today that said I rarily get a street race, I guess today was my lucky day! Got off work and headed home, cruse set at 78 and I see a R/T coming up behing me, I gave it a second look with a hope in the back of my mind, but let it go. When he drove by at about 90 it turned out to be a guy I work with that I always ask to run. Well he went by and when he was about 6 length ahead I said Fuk it, gave her 3rd and chased him down. As I reeled him in I knew he was racing with his exhaust screaming, shifted to 4th and kept pulling hard. Never had trouble catching him or passing him. He just has a no name intake and 20" wheels, I'm sure the intake is of 0 benifit (you have to see this thing) and the 20's hurt bad on the rotational and total weight. But none the less had no trouble with the kill.

If you get a head start by jumping on it before he does it shouldn't be hard to run it down. I sure if you go from a dig or start at the same time it will be much closer. You would still win, but not pulling hard.

I should eat his lunch from a dig. I havent seen an R/T stock get out of the 14's and with his wheels, the 20's take a good bit of torque to get going due to the larger diameter and weight.
Also after I caught him I had to slow down let him pass and change lanes to go around a car. Then we ran again, he was allready on it before I punched 3rd again. I caught him just the same and pulled with out problem.

Yeah, I've never much been impressed with Dakota R/T's.

It is a Charger R/T, not the Dakota. Looking back I see I never clarified that. I didn't think they made a Dakota R/T in 2007.

No, they didn't you're right. I just forget about people modding charger's unless they're SRT-8 Chargers.
