The 3.8 will give a stock GT a run. Owned both seen it happen. As for a 69 with a built motor, run and see.

No, actually the 3.8 GM cars are really pretty darn quick. And in stock trim, a 99-04 GT is really fun to drive, but it ain't shit in the grand scheme of things. That's gospel, son, get over it.

teh chevy 3.8 is a pretty quick engine i'll give you that, and while the new edge gt isn't impressive...it should have absolutely no problems with a sixxer f-body

I don't recall what year GM first put the 3.8 in the Camaro, but I do remember that somewhere in the magazine article I was reading they joked it was the first time a 6-cyl Camaro was quicker than a GT. I have an Impala with the 3.8 and had the GT - they're both quick. But just to put things in perspective, the Impala wasn't designed to be quick or fast, the GT was. Don't blame me, Ford lagged when GM made the 5.7 standard. Or instead of attacking me, look through this forum. Eighty or ninety percent of the threads here are of GT vs. some turbo 4-cyl or some naturally aspirated 6-cyl. And those cars are damn quick. The 99-04 is a beautiful car and fun to drive but most minivans (and everything else except econoboxes) are available with an optional engine with 250 or more hp. Buy what you love, mod it as the fun fund allows, but be realistic about what you have. You don't have to be king of the hill to have a great and fun car. Despite how slow mine was, even on nitrous, I do miss that car. |

The majority of Mustangs just aren't that fast, especially now that the import tuning market has really gotten rolling. As Timber said, most non-econoboxes have an optional 250+hp motor available, and I would add that most econoboxes have a 200+hp engine available.

No, sorry for the confusion. I made the mistake of replying to the last thread w/quote, my comments were directed at Blacksunshine. I'm too old to hate any car, I take them all on their merits and appreciate them for what they are. My reply wasn't directed at you.
