mach vs GT

well I went out on the sunday cruise we always have and walked inside the race trac we stop at. Come out to my buddy saying i set up a race for you. I said whatever whats done to the mach he said the guy said "stock" with welded in mufflers. Im fully bolt on minus headers. we went from a 40 roll and he had a nose on me. Should a "stock" mach be beating me?

If you run 14's with full bolt ons then yes a stock Mach 1 will beat you...

Actually it should be a pretty even race just like you said it was. That is until he starts taking off that stock sticker on his car.

i ran mach boy and doc pretty hard. they have better top end than i do, but run them hard till around 80mph or so.

dont stock mach1 run high 13's? what's your definition of full bolt-ons if you are only running 14.1 'cause my buddy has full bolt-ons (lt headers w/ x-pipe, tb w/plenum, pullies, gears, aluminum driveshaft, sct tune) and the runs 13.2

If those mods in your garage are it than imo ya. I bet if you get a tuner it would be the other way around.

if im not mistaken his times were either taken when he was stock and before the bolts ons, or its an elevation thing. I cant remember but I remember a thread about it along time ago

mach1s have nice top end. its those freakin 4vs...

Wouldnt full bolt ons add heads cams and intake to that list

Elevation is a factor for me and I threw a code after my first run so I took it easy too. I was also redlining as opposed to shifting just prior to 6k and I ran a 14.1 too. My point is the heavily modded GT and stock Mach 1 are pretty close and should come down to the drivers.

I have 70mm tb plenum intake o/r x-pipe and flows out the back 3.73's udp that 14.1 was on a unprepped track because they didn't want to prep the track because there ripping it up. And it was my first time out there.
