Furian Newbie Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 5	1998 V6 Springs I have 98 V6 Mustang. Have had very few problems with it, but now have a pretty serious one. I have 2 broken coil springs, one in the front and one in th back. I've called around to the local shops and dealers, and it is going to be very pricey to have the problem fixed. I don't really want to lower the car or anything like that, so factory springs are fine with me. So I guess I have a couple questions: Where can I acquire springs that will be cheaper than the factory? Are there any after market springs that don't lower the car? How difficult (and dangerous) will it be to mount the new springs? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

A shop can install all 4 new springs in 4 hours for a price ranging from $150-$250 depending on location. You can do the swap yourself if you have the time/tools and ability. 99mustang232 MM Fanatic 1999 Ford Mustang V6 Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: newport news, va Posts: 3,719	no real passenger comfort issues, but i will say lowering your car and keeping your oem shocks/struts they will make them wear faster, might be a better option to go ahead and replace those while you are pulling it apart. maybe buy a kit to save a little money. here is a good write up by a fellow board member click here. i am running the tokico advance handling package (HPK-237) on mine, which is a 1.5" drop, plus tokico hp shocks/struts, with mac c/c plates. if you want to a great suspension mod to your v6, add a rear sway bar from a gt it will drastically improve cornering. here is a good writeup on using takeoff swaybars __________________ ...even fire and single cammin
