which lowering springs?

im about to order either the Ford Racing C-Springs or the StangSuspension Stage 1 lowering springs and im wondering if anyone has had experience with either of these and whether or not i should be concerned with linear rate vs progressive rate springs? im going to be driving on the street 90% of the time and about 10% doing some autocross (at least i plan to). the stangsuspension ones are about $40 more than the c-springs but are progressive rate in the front and lower both ends about 1.4". i dont want to have to buy CC plates and new shocks and struts just yet so, would a 1.4" drop require those?

Go with progressive rate. Like Turbo said, you won't NEED CC plates, but they're nice to have. Especially if you like the auto-x.

Im looking at doing this to my car in a few months as well. If I purchase lowering springs, will I need to replace the shocks and struts as well?

Lookin for the lowest drop I can get... 1.4" is good but im looking for that really aggresive stance. I have seen some pics where the cars tires were about 3" or so from the tire well. What drop rate would I need for that?
