Cant get the strut off the spindel! errrrrrrrr

I have used heat, impact driver, PB blaster, hammer and muscle and nothing seems to work on these damn things. even the damn bolts on the caliper bracket are frozen onto the spindle! i heated them up and all it did was strip the ends slightly. I even called a damn mechiene shop and they told me they dont work on cars! i told them its the spindels they are off the car and they said nope???? and also i cant even the the top nut off the strut! the screw driver things I have give no leverage and I can no longer hold it when trying to get the nut off! the spindels are holding my whole project up.

Are you heating the area around the bolts and not the bolts themselves? Also, are you trying to keep the struts? If not, then try clamping a large pair of vise grips on the shaft to keep it from turning and hit the nut with an impact. Also is the tension off the struts by jacking the control arm up? What i did was get the nut as far as you can holding it with the pry bar, then when the pry bar got in the way, i sprayed it good with pb blaster then hit it a couple times real quick with the impact. The shaft spun if I did it too long, so I just blipped it and they spun right off. Sorry i can't help you with the strut to steering knuckle bolts. mine came right off. Hope the rest helps though

machine shop! I got everything on and guess what happens... the passenger side egr tube nut decides it wants to break in half. so I call up for and for that little pipe with the 2 fasteners is going to cost me $50! oh and after this happened I decided to work on the coil overs... the tube that holds the springs wont slide over the damn bracket. errrr so I now have to send digi pics to UPR so they can examine said product. lil dumb things keep popping up.

I have the same damn problem with my UPR 4 bolt plates. I can't get those damn things off! You should really let them know, and send them pics. They have a horrible product.

i was joking. i knew the thread was dead but who cares. i figured if yoiu are smart enough to tackle this project you are smart enough to remove the nut first.

On a side note ill be doing this to my 89 here in a couple weeks. 5- lug swap and a cobra irs.
