Again, I think the best argument for the IRS is the success that MM had after ONLY switching the rear suspension from solid to IRS on the #91 car, and in addition to that, MM's hesitant admittance that the IRS is a viable alternative to their bread-and-butter T/A-PHB solid axle setup.

Oh MM didn't hesitate. The guy I talked talked to was pretty excited to hear I wanted to try an IRS swap in my 95. Said he loves the IRS over the solid.
True Griggs doesn't have anything for the IRS, my understanding was that they didn't feel they would gain anything from developing anything from it vs their solid axle. They made it pretty clear what they think will work and I'm not sure its what I want, MM is happy to give me whatever advice they can and will work with me to change anything around in a package to better suit my needs. Griggs pretty much told me what works for them and didn't have any help to offer for something different. I realize that they have plenty of experience and have some fast race cars. I'm not sure how many of them actually have driven those same cars down roads in ND though ![]() Both companys were defiantly helpful though, and I wouldn't hesitate to say Griggs can build you a fast car, as long as you'll write the check. |

One thing they won't officially give me are track times comparing the #91 w/ solid axle to the #91 with IRS. I'm almost POSITIVE I saw the original article detailing them cutting 2-3 seconds off their time with just the IRS on their website, and I KNOW they have that kind of info somewhere. I mean, seriously, they are ALL about R&D, track performance, etc, and they don't have information comparing the two setups on the same track. I find that hard to believe ![]() I don't blame them, though. When you're selling competing products and your best-seller doesn't come out on top of the performance heap, it seems better to keep the comparisons to a "personal opinion" level rather than divulge that detailed information.
![]() Oh, and I fixed your statement a little haha.
