Upper control arm axle bushing removal

New to this forum but so far I think it is great ! My question is how do you get the large bushings out of the top of the 8.8 axle housing where the upper control arms mount. And do I need to get them pressed in ? Thanks

jack the car up, let the wheels hang, and drill them out. takes about 5 min. per side

i just let the drill walk around the bushing ,knocked the metal sleeve out with a big hammer and punch, used a wire brush to clean out any rubber leftover. wasnt bad at all.

yeah i had limited tools, I was cutting it out the big pieces with a knife after i drilled a bunch of holes, then filed down the sides, then polished it with a light metal sander bit...
