Need some info on hp 2.3t

I posted in the regular 2.3 section didnt get much, figured you guys could help me more! Thinkin of swapping a 2.3t into my 5.0 because from what ive read that swap would shave off around 500lbs and i can make more power easier and get better mpg.

So a 2.3t with a bigger turbo, ported head, ported lower itake, custom upper intake, injectors,(may run on e85) header, cams? Just a couple mods id do. How much horse power would the motor have with these mods?? Any eatimations are appreciated!

Also any body with info on the swap any infos helpfull too.
This may be a stupid question but would my t5 out of my 5.0 stang work with a 2.3t? Ive been searching on here for these answers, cant find much.....

Thanks luke

theres a 2.3t swap sticky read there for a walkthrough on the swap by stinger perf also read my sticky read this before u ask an q thread for the t5 info and as for the 2.3t hp it all depends on what u do. all those mods u listed are useless unless you have specifics like port flow and valve size and cam profile yada yada yada you could change everything and add only 100hp or 600hp it all depends on how much u plan to spend and how well the parts work together. also youll only save 200lbs with a 2.3t they are a heavy 4cyl at 450lbs. but well worth it if you plan on corner carving also why turbo do u need the big hp #(300+) because you can get 250hp out of a na 2.3 im running 180-190hp with a ported head, holley 350, and a 510 lift rw cam and header and ohc230 is at 230hp with a aftermarket esslinger aluminum head. as u can see both our cars are faster than a stock 5.0 and i only have about $1500 in mine with junkyard and used parts

to run 11s and 12s u arnt going to get good gas milage your lookin at a 500+hp motor keep your n/a 2.3 and throw some minor mods on it and youll be happy trust me. 190hp out of a n/a 2.3 is faster than any 220hp 5.slow and i still get 20+mpg when i play nice. plus you have even power unlike a turbo car. if you have to have a turbo youll wanna rebuild it first.and keep in mind your going to need some way to modify your computer and no a chip wont cut it. theres a lot of unseen costs to doing a turbo swap. im doing it right now and trust me it isnt cheap.

i dont wanna be an ass but u seem to be a little noobish stick around the forums and learn a little before u try asking about motor swaps and 11sec cars

then build a turbo i never told u not to!!!
listen ive built 300hp n/a 2.3s and a 900hp compound 12v cummins and a 1200hp bbc. ive rebuilt countless transmissions. if youd have read the stickys and asked question not in there you wouldn't have asked the questions here. you clearly have never turned a wrench in you life or your very young either way shut up and listen.

your looking at about 8g+ for the work u want done if u cant do it yourself figure 2000+ alone on a good turbo. and a thousand on a head/cam. another 1200 on the block and beefed internals. then another 1000 for all the fuel and spark upgrades not to mention anything i didnt add like how your trans is going to need to be beefed up along with the driveline and rear end. and fox body brakes suck so u might as well throw those in too because i dont need u hitting me and if somone like you did id run home grab my 12v dodge chase down your turbo23 and park on it.

i know this is off the topic but with a 510 lift cam dont you need like stiffer valve spring or stonger valves or something too?
just curious

they have t5 for the 2.3 what do you think came in most 2.3t. sure not a4lds and also there were t5 in non turbo mustangs to there just rare.and with a 510 cam yes you need better springs and retainers. and at hp above 300 any stock t5 is going to fail

Ummm... Where the hell have you been buying parts at? I have a Precision on my SVO that will generate around 600hp with the right head and cam combo, cost less than $700 brand new, and the best head/cam combo for 2.3T fords is Boport, and his full port head and cam with hardware is 2k.

OP, I don't know why you think it would be easier to make more power with a 2.3T. The VAM's are limited to less than 300rwhp and the only option is to go to an aftermarket ecu from megasquirt or complete custom from F.A.S.T. or the likes. It's deffinantly not easier, and so far for me it's not been cheaper. A 5.0 with some nitrous will be cheap and run pretty well. But I am happy to hear someone else has faith in the 2.3T's. Deffinantly can make a TON of power but it's neither cheap or easy.
