My '85 SVO
Since it's dead in here I'll try to spark some interest in SVO's again and post photos of my cars progress. It started life white, and I never took any worth while pics of it, but here's some of it along the way.
Actually, I think this is the only photo I have of it before I sanded it all down and primered it. ![]() It was all down hill from there ![]() Here are the Stinger parts, the first performance stuff I did to it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() factory stuff next to stinger header ![]() This is about the time I started really digging in too deep! ![]() It literally took me FOREVER to get the header on, I had a lot of problems with fastners not clearing the primary tubes! But finally did and here it sits, without the intercooler pipes...

I have removed all "unnecessary" weight like a/c, interior carpet/back seat/insulation, gutted insides of the doors removing all electronics related to windows and door locks, removed stereo and speakers and all wires, Taken out most of the a/c parts behind the dash and am in the process of building plates to block off the vent holes
also shaved the door handles, my first ever attempt at something like this: ![]() ![]() ![]() Did the same thing to the antennae hole, and have removed the windshield wipers and motor and have plans to smooth out the hole left in the cowel, and one day maybe fill in the space and remove the plastic cowel completely Made a gauge cluster to put in place of the factory radio: ![]() There you can see some of the flooring material, which is not even close to final, so I'll hold off on those pics! Here are some exterior pics as it sits now ![]() ![]() ![]() good shot of the FMIC here ![]() and the cluttered engine bay will probably stay like this!

I tried to rebuild the turbo, failed miserably at that and bought a new one: Precision 6031
![]() Here is a teaser pic of the wheels I just got mounted, and got the lug nuts in yesterday so I hope to have these on the car tomorrow morning, matching skinnies up front ![]() ![]() I got this dynomax race bullet muffler in a trade along with a fuel cell that I probably won't ever use. It was in rough shape when I got it: ![]() Sanded the paint off and brought it to work to use the buffing wheels on it. Turned out pretty nice!

I've got a long way to go before I think it will be "complete" but it's the adventure that keeps me interested!
also, the engine is a factory stock long block all the way through the intakes. I was lucky enough to purchase one of the first PiMP ecu's from Stinger and I'm very pleased with it. He is sending me a new waste gate because the last one I got from him isn't performing well, after that is settled I should be able to finalize tuning at about 19psi and maybe get to the dyno. Fuel system is a 255lph in tank pump and the inline pump replaced with a filter, and factory injectors. I think this turbo will have no problem maxing those out. I'm hoping to be at just around 300whp without having to upgrade injectors. I left out a lot of pics so if anybody has any requests or questions or comments feel free, if I haven't changed something I probably at least have a photo of it at some point!

Forgot to add, the guy I bought it from had already installed a UPR tubular k member and A-arms kit with coil overs and adjustable caster camber plates, the transmission rebuilt and factory rear end. He also had upgraded front brakes to sn-95 parts and installed that massive radiator that almost took up too much room to fit the intercooler.

Look awesome so far! I've always had an interest in the SVOs, if only I could own one. D:

The fit is pretty nice, it's just one of the primaries was in the way of the factory manifold bolts. So I hahd to get the right size/thread pitch in an allen head bolt. Still had some small issues with one of the bolts but it's all in there now.

Got 'em on. I had wheel spacers on the fronts and took those off so the skinnies would tuck in more, then found the rear wheels were rubbing the breaks as expected, so I put the spacers on there. It cleared the brakes but now the stick out extra redneck style. I don't like it so I'll have to take the rears off and get a grinder on them.
![]() ![]() Here I've lowered the front adjustable coil overs some, it's hard to tell, but it's about an inch, maybe a little more lower.

With the factory size injectors it won't flow enough fuel to get much more than 300whp. With big enough injectors the next limiting factor will be the short block. A nice flowing head and bigger cam would help a lot, but it can be pushed past those restrictions if I try real hard. I think around 400-450whp is about the limit of the factory pistons.
The Vehicross I got just almost exactly a year ago. It's a TON of fun and I drive the shit outta it! I've got a lot of pics of that too from what it looked like when I bought it to what it is now. I'm planning on another 3" of lift from a body lift kit adapted from a Trooper.

I got exhaust pipes in for a DIY at home job. I don't really know how it's gonna sound, I hope good!
New 4" diameter flex pipe, then a Y w/ cutout, couple 45* bends and the race bullet that I polished. I don't know if I want to mount it to where the muffler shows outside the car or not... Might be better tucked under some. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And yes, it is propped up in place with my old turbo housings! I didn't have anything else to do with them. : I'll be on vacation next week so plan is to get it trimmed to fit, one of the last 45* pipes needs a few inches taken off for the muffler to clear the back tire, or if I leave it all under the car then I won't need to trim any and just get them welded, then put a couple hangars on there and it's set. If I leave it under the car then I think I can probably use the holes in the floor board from the rear seat mounts and seatbelts to put a hangar for the muffler, then I'll want to put one near the end of the flex pipe as well.

I know already, been running just the downpipe for about a year. I like the way this race bullit sounded once I put it on there and heard how it quietened down the idle sound. Besides, I've already bought the cutout and pipes, muffler is going on!

Haven't updated in a while.
I busted the oil feed line and had to replace that, bought some boot protectors to cover all the plug wires, and a couple extra to cover the grounding strap and feed line because it was those two that were rubbing and caused the line to rupture. I also got some adjustable Hotchkis upper control arms, some lake wood 70/30 rear shocks and I'm looking for some new solid lower control arms and I'll put all the new rear suspension parts on. I already have a set of full length sub frame connectors waiting to be welded in. I also bought some 65lb injectors! These are good to handle about 400rwhph!!!! I'm going to tune it on the factory injectors first, maybe get on the dyno when the shop welds in the sub frames, and then put in the 65's. I want to see what I can get with factory injectos. Just to have a "proven combo" sort of deal. I also bought some factory chrome v6 mustang wheels to roll around on until I get smaller rear calipers to clear those drag wheels.
