Preferred Head Gasket?

I hate people that don't do things incorrect. Time to do a head gasket on my car. I'm definitely using the eslinger stud bolt kit for turbo applications, but what is a good head gasket? I don't want to go back with the oem felpro. I have searched for a cooper head gasket and found the company procooper. Have any of you used them? Thanks.

anyhow, most people will tell you that a factory used gasket from felpro will work fine, and there are people using that gasket in high boost applications. I have not heard anything about the company you mentioned though.

Ok thanks. That felpro gasket really works that well? Sorry I was pretty ticked off. I'm pulling my head off next week so i will be able to tell if its the gasket or if it was torqued down wrong.

I would have to look it up again but i found copper head gaskets for the 2.3 that were availible in many sizes and configurations (with or without fire rings) they were 90-130 bucks a piece though.

If you can post a link please. I have suspicions that the car is bored over. Was poking around with the bore scope and it has aftermarket trw pistons in it. I'm going to try and get the serial number off the top later this week. I'm praying they are forged. Thanks to everyone.

It is also necessary to retorque head bolts after the first heat cycle.

The Esslingler studs I'm using require a four step process. 30#, 60#, 75#, and finally 90#.

I have been using the layered steel gaskets on customers cars for a while and I've yet to see a failure. Steel after all, has a much higher yield strength than copper and the cost is a bit lower. A lot of gasket failures are the result of warp-age of the head. It would be worth it to re-surface the head after a blown gasket.
