2.3t cams

Have a ranger roller cam and want to know what all I need to get to put it in the 2.3t. Is it even worth it?

you'll need followers (i believe, i kno you need something.. im gonna say followers) because its a roller

but other than that, its practically the same camshaft, the later 2.3 mustangs and rangers used that same cam

also, some weak points of the 2.3 engine

int shaft
distributor gear
belt tensioner

and: STINGER PERFORMANCE PARTS - 2.3 Turbo Performance Parts for Mustang SVO, Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, Merkur XR4Ti, Pinto, Ranger, and Sand Rails

scroll down for exhaust piping, the IC piping is up front

2.3 Billet intermediate shaft: Esslinger Online Store

i wouldn't worry too much about it until you start making either serious horsepower, or start revving it up pretty high, i just dont wanna see ya runnin down the street all happy and have the belt tensioner snap on ya haha

the SVO is only 205hp, bump it to like 22-25psi and turn the timing to about 17* advanced and run 93 or higher octane should be 250hp but swap out the 190lph pump for a 255lph to be able to feed that air mix

i gave you the link for the exhaust, its pretty straight forward if you're going single exhaust

from what i understand, the 2.3T benefits greatly from an exhaust upgrade

get a magnaflow muffler, not too pricey and they sound good. and straight thru performance as they say.

int shaft will be fine for 250hp , btw its the shaft that turns the distributor (middle pulley in the timing belt), also it turns the oil pump, and in older 2.3t the mech. fuel pump.

get exhaust 3" straight thru, magnaflow or similar straight thru style, upgrade the intercooler, and turn up the boost with a boost controller.

205hp yes..but not to the wheels my friends. 250rwhp is a big jump in performance from stock!

you can also gut the intake, do some porting, etc for additional ponies. pretty straight forward stuff, good luck! keep everyone posted
