Question

world class T5

what parts do you need to install a v8 T-5 behind a 2.3turbo I know the input
shaft is different on a v8 trans compared to a 4cyl. is their a different pilot bearing to adapt a v8 trans to a 2.3t . Is the spline count the same on the output shaft the same too? 28 spline?

ya 28 spline,

input shaft can be machined down at a local machine shop for cheap, also you will need an adapter plate.

stinger-performance.com or canfield makes them too

I dont think the adapter plate would be necessary to run a factory sized clutch that is to run a larger 5.0 clutch

well after thinking it over, no adapter bushing is going to adapt a V8 T5 to fit behind a 2.3.

the input shaft on the V8 is bigger in diameter, and you can't slide an adapter on the shaft that is going to make it smaller.

so the only way, is to have it ground down to proper size... i think .59" correct me if i'm wrong, but the logic seems undeniable.

what did you end up doing??

the adapter bushings are to fit a 4cylinder T5 behind a 5.0 V8 motor.

Its a friends car .I figured that the inside diameter of the 2.3 crank would still be much larger than the outside diameter of the input shaft of the V8 T5 input shaft(.669) since its only a .079 difference compared to the .590 4cyl T5. He called up hanlon and they cleared it up and said they can turn down the shaft to .590.
