you cannot possibly bore the engine out to get the displacement of a 4.2l its impossible.

now if you are interested in stroking the engine then thats very possible but you cannot bore the sidewalls like that.

Correct. There is no chance of boring the block to a 4.2.

the bore doesnt do it. it is the 4.2L crank mainly. i am bored and stroked but that didnt give me the 4.2L.

Redlined Performance Mustangs :: Rotating Assemblies :: RPM 4.2L Forged Rotating Assembly

this is the way to go. and get the upgraded ROSS piston rings.

You bore cylinders, not pistons. This will have to be done at a local machine shop. Boring has nothing to do with getting to 4.2l, that is created by stroking by using a different crankshaft. For a 4.2 you will need new pistons, rings, and crank. I suggest looking for a used 4.2 or buying a built short block.

haha thats what i ment my bad. So a 4.2L has nothing to do with making the cylinder bigger? i thought it was. So if i put that shit in there it will be a 4.2L? explain

Let me simplify this for you:

THIS
(4.2L rotating assembly)

+
(plus)

THIS
(your stock motor)

+
(plus)

THIS
(machine shop)

=
(equals)

THIS
(4.2L)

boring = making diameter of cylinder lager... or it also = listening to the gf talk about her shopping day

stroking = increasing the distance the piston travels... or what you end up doing after you pissed off the gf for not listening to her shopping story

Some strokers you have to bore the block a little like a 331,347,408 etc
What they are trying to tell you is that a 4.2 stroker doesn't need the block
bored to acheive. The rotating assemble will fit in the stock block.

not trying to be an ass, but considering you didn't know the difference between stroke and bore I highly doubt you know how... or have had any experience working on internals of a motor...

Stroke Any Engine - How To - Hot Rod Magazine
^read that for starters, then decide if you think you'd be able to...
