Rough idle after installing CAI

So I installed my ebay fenderwell intake CAI last night and it seems to be having a rough idle in drive. I disconnected the battery so the PCM could relearn it. I have reset it once before and didn't have a rough idle that time so I dont think it is a learning issue. I have heard that the MAF sensor can have some bad readings because fo the 90 degree bend before the sensor. Is there any way to correct this or am I experiencing a different problem? I put the metal screen back in to try and help it but it didnt do anything.
The idle seems fine when in park and it drives fine but the idle in drive is really rough.

you will not have a vacuum leak installing the intake unless you did something wrong
you intake has no vacuum ports to the intake on a 99+
even single ports i dont believe have vacuum ports
is your MAF plugged in?

Check the couplings after the MAF to make sure they are sealed correctly.
A bad connection after the MAF would allow un metered air in and the symptoms you have.

Clean your MAF sensor, sometimes when people disassemble it, you put your MAF sensor somewhere where grime or dust from being out in the open can clog that up. Even if it looks clean. still clean it

They are sealed pretty good IMO. I might just take it apart and put it back together. It was like 20 degrees, dark and snowing when I installed it so I may have fudged it somewhere. I did clean the MAF with some MAF cleaner right before I installed it so that shouldnt be an issue. It seems like it might be getting better after driving it the last time but I cant take it out because we got like 7 inches of snow here last night and another foot is expected tonight.

Well I took it apart and reinstalled it with a metal honeycomb grid in the pipe before the MAF. I had an extra one from my photography business. I didnt get to drive it at all but I sat in the driveway and the idle seemed a little better in drive but it might be just wishful thinking. Hopefully all this junk I am putting in the tube isnt too restictive. Its definately not as smooth as it was with the stock intake at this point.

Are you talking about just resetting the PCM by unhooking the battery? I have done that already. Or are you talking about something else? How long should it take to relearn the new intake?

What does that do different from just taking off the negative cable? I will have to give it a shot.

it resets the ECU back to factory settings meaning it forget your driving style now and relearns everything. itll feel funny at first but give in about 75-115 miles and itll feel right again

I couldnt see the video very well. Do I need to disconnect both battery cables and touch them together or just touch the ground to the positive while the positive is still connected?

Thanks, I will give that a try. What gets reset when you just disconnect the negative cable for a while?

disconnect the negative just resets the OBD 2 cycle and electronic things. the hard reset resets the ECU which is essentially flash memory that stores things like injector response ect to adapt to how you drive

gotcha, maybe I should take out all the junk I put in there to straighten the air out before I reset it. Do you think I should keep the screen in?
