a freindly tip for those who cant afford exhaust

just start with headers theree the main component of any exhaust system then just take you stock muffler off and drill a few holes in the top(you can just jack it up and do this to the bottom if emisisions isnt a worry to you its not to me) and then take a small hokk or needle nose plyers and pull out the fiber glass soundproffing it actually makes a decent souns and cracks, its what i did before i bought mine. Its possible by doing this a bit more exhaust fumes can get in i never had a problem with it and was on my car for 6 months, sometimes i think it sound better then flows and shit like that just a tip

well i dont have a video camera, i guess i could record it on my mp3 player i dont know how its going to distort but i'll try it an c if i can upload it, in all honesty did sound good i'd have to take my exhaust system oof that wont take long I'll c if i can do that

you do know that it is dyno proven for street cars that muffled applications make 2-3 MORE rwhp than unmuffled. i suggest those who cannot afford a mod to wait until they can afford the mod, but that's just my sound reasoning.

exhaust serves 2 functions (for the aftermarket anyway)
1) power
2) sound

you will not only make more power, but you will also have a much better sound with a quality muffler in the correct size mandrel-bent pipe after some long tube headers...

also, it doesnt take much more than a stock motor with bolt ons to get a 3.8 into the mid 14s. exhaust, gears, and tune alone with good traction will do it...

for the most part...headers, throttle body, exhaust from headers back, a tune and a 8.8 rear end swap is cheaper and easier to do yourself then paying or trying to install a t-lok in a 7.5 plus its more reliable on power then a 7.5 makes a lot more sense....that should bring the car in the high 14's without gears

i doubt that setup will break into 14s unless on slicks on a 5-speed. with 3.27s, i ran a 15.4; with 4.10s, i ran a 14.9. i have full bolt ons as well, so a t-lok that is in the factory 8.8" rear is not enough to accelerate the v6 into the 14s... but it is true that the 8.8 is much stronger and ideal for a low 13 second car...

Heres a better tip for those of you who can't afford exhaust. Get other stuff done to your engine. Save up, don't randomly spend money, put money to the side, don't jimmy rig your stuff.

i think you all are missing the obvious point that this is a tip for those who dont have money its a quick way to make your car louder and sound better, its just a tip for begainers and looking at videos on youtube i can say when i did it my car sounded better than some v6 mustangs with flows what up with ppls v6 stang sounding like rice you almost have to want it to sound like that (this isnt talking about you guys its about other v6 stangs)

my conclusion is that a car will PERFORM better with stock exhaust through and through over an unmuffled (not street legal) one. now, gutting cats or removing cats is very easy, but requires either a tune or MIL eliminators to completely work.

you will always get what you pay for in the auto industry.

We aren't missing the point. We want to keep these guys from getting in trouble. Yes, I may have my car unhooked from the y-pipe, but you know what...I am changing my exhaust anyways. Money doesn't come easy for me either. Things take time and saving up. Thats why I say to do my advice. Parts aren't as expensive as you may think. Go for other parts and make your car perform better. Don't jimmy rig your car, and keep it legal that is smartest thing to do. Also v6 stangs do sound like ricers in high rpms.

yea, "ricers" are even-firing motors just like the essex line of ford v6 motors... they will always have a similar tone...

now my car is not street legal, but i drive it everywhere everyday without issues. but i do have mufflers. all i have to recommend is quality parts and smart modding will get you leaps and bounds ahead of the "free mods."

because i have no cats, and the fumes are not bad- and mufflers do not remove contaminants such as the CO and N build-up as catalytic converters do...

everyone should enjoy their cars and have fun with them, but if you cannot afford to correctly or safely modify an application, wait until you can...
