steering wheel and hood question

ok long story short my GF smacked my 2000 stang into the back of a honda CRV a few weeks ago, and of course the damn CRV bumper was higher then the bumper on the stang so blam i get to buy a new bumper cover, and a new hood, glad she was only doing about 10mph.

side effect the airbags went off guess she hit it just right as the only damage is cosmetic.

so here are the questions

Hood: i have been wanting to put the GT hood with the scoop on it, however all the sites i look at list that hood for the GT only but some list for the base and the GT, am i correct in assuming that other then the looks the actual demensions of the hood are the same for the base and GT. (don't want to order a new hood and have it not fit)

steering wheel: since the airbag went off my steering wheel now has a nice lil hole punched in it, i thought rather then changing out the center of the steerign wheel i would put a different one in. then realised my cruise control is in teh wheel of course so if i put a custom wheel in i eliminate my cruise which i use regularly. then i seen the wheel in the new model mustang and really like those and they have the cruise in the wheel also, my question is can i bolt a steering wheel out of an 05-08 stang into my 2000 stang? without any modification, or at least nothing major?

thanks for all the help

oh yeah morale of the story DON"T LET YOUR GIRLFRIEND DRIVE YOU STANG

I'd say buy the stock v6 hood then the scoop separate as youngin said, but don't go to Ford, you can get it much cheaper online. Just do some searching. I'd get them both primed and then take it somewhere local to get painted together.

well the v6 and gt hood is the same thing. and its really hard to come by the GT hoodscoop online . you can try ebay but the ones that are a grip online are the roush ones and thats a bit smaller than the GT

thanks for answering the question just wanted to be sure there were no differences in the hood deminsions, and as you stated the scoop is very hard to find is why i have considered buying one with it already there, have not really decided exactly which hood i want yet.

anyhow on to the steering wheel

can anyone tell me if th wheel out of the new bodystyle will work, not sure if they all have the same style but the one i want i see in teh GT's

all hoods 99-04 are the same, dimension wise, they might look different, but they all are X long by Z wide.

the steering wheels will have a high probability of not "bolting" on, but with a little work you will be able to rewire it all to make it work, wiring isn't that big of a bitch, is it?

wiring is not a problem at all have not found anything i could not rewire yet. just wandering if the actual bolt up is going to require major/minor mods or any at all, you know like drilling holes in the new wheel and all tha, just trying to figure out if it will work before i go out and buy one, got a few grand in repairs here don't have money to waste know what i mean
thanks for all the input
