i have used the fram extra guard, the only fram thats worth anything, but im switching over to K&N at this change

well generally the more you run the car especially running it hard the more wear you'll get on your cylinder walls as well as possible blow by
a thicker oil can help aid to stop/slow down blow by or seal better
