Heater Core Leak

I have a 2000 Mustang V6 that the heater core is leaking.

Has anyone ever replaced this without wanting to kill someone at Ford for bad bad engineering?

Is there a short cut we can take to get this done cheaper?

Are there any links to a: How To page

Yes, this helps a lot. I just hope there are not many changes from a 1998 to a 2000?

Can anyone answer that?

Thanks again

well i couldn’t find anything but i would bet they are very similar or most likely the same but ill look a little more. But i did find this 1994-2004 Ford Mustang Reliability - Consumer Guide Automotive
It says Heater core: Installing a restrictor in the heater inlet hose may repair heater cores leaks. (1985-2002)

I compared the shop manual to the procedure given above. It appears to be the same.

You might want to buy the shop manual from Helm or perhaps a Ford dealership would be willing to photocopy the relevant pages.

Do you know where or what the restrictor looks like, so I know what to purchase.

Thanks
