I just got my car back from having to blown heads replaced. Check engine comes on and the code is P1407. It means no flow of EGR I understand. What is the solution to the problem? New valve? Where should i start? TIA

what year mustang?

check to be sure the EGR pipe is connected at the header and at the EGR vavle. check the 2 rubber hoses as well. if the vaccuum lines are sealed and the EGR valve is bolted to the block, check the electrical connector at the valve too.

got any pics of the engine bay? we may be able to see if something is awry or an easy fix before really jumping into it...

today i checked the hoses and electrical connections for voltage. i followed the procedures in my haynes manual and if u have one i did whats on page 6-18 and 6-19. in section 5 i did line 9, 15, 16, and 17. all checked out ok. the 18th line i couldnt quite figure out what they were saying. anyway, i need to know if the lines are hooked up correctly to start with that may be the problem. there is the pipe from the exhaust manifold to the egr valve. the first hose from the botton of that pipe goes to the backside of the DPFE sensor, the side opposite of the electrical connection. the next hose up goes to the front side of the same sensor on the same side as the connection. also from the manifold vacumm port there is a red hose that goes to the bottom port of the EVR, and from the EGR valve there is a green hose that goes to the top port of the EVR. are the hoses in the correct sequence? TIA
