MAC catback -> True Dual vs. catted X-pipe
hey guys,
I got a MAC catback on my 3.8 1998 - modified to "true duals" with one stock cat on each pipe. I'm here in Germany and got inspected and they said I need an H/X pipe - because its not allowed to have "two" single exhaust systems (true dual)......... anyway - my question, I just saw that Pypes got a catted X-pipe.. when I add this thing to my existing MAC catback - it will change my exhaust note / sound? |

just get a crossover pipe welded in to connect the two pipes....what u have are divorced duals, it will still be true dual with a crossover pipe. they are prolly saying that u need cats

forgot to add: the second reason why I'm thinkin to get a H or X pipe is because the pre-owner of my mustang modified the stock V6 exhaust to true dual with all different kind of pipes (small and big and rusted and different kind of cr@p) - so the piping between cats and the MAC catback looks very bad, lots of cuts and weldings - so another reason they said I'll getting problems with the next inspection.. thats why I thought getting rid of this and just bolt in the pypes' catted x-pipe...
I just searched around and I see you guys more like the H-pipe - why is that? the x-pipe sounds not good? |

the X and H pipes have slightly different tones to them. X is more raspy and H is not as raspy.
if you have an exhaust shop near you head over there and tell them what you want, and see how much they quote you for. might be cheaper that way instead of dealing with shipping and what not. OH, and just keep the stock cats, they will be fine.
