1/4 Mile Accurate test?

Ok...I'd like to get an accurate 1/4 time with all stock before I make changes. What is the most accurate way of determining time without an official 1/4 track to time?

Also, with an automatic...what is the most efficient way to run 1/4?

Thanks

find a long straight road come to a stop reset you trip meter to zero then punch it untill it gets half way to three then see what your speed is, then theres site online then can give you an estimate, or you can have a freind stop watch it if your car is a 94-98 stang automatic you'll probally run (94) 17.7 95-98 probally mid 16's (99-2004) probally mid 15s and the new stangs probally even lower mail me if you have any questions

you wont break a 15.5 unless it is a 2005+ v6 stock... but if you walk off 1/4 mile on a straight road and take 5 or so passes, you will get a gross estimate. but the street is not prepped like a track, and the 1/4 time isnt as much as the 60' time and also your mph. mph is correlated to horsepower, and your 60' is all about the launch...
