Fox Body 5.0 catback exhaust on a 2003 v6?

Could a muffler shop make me a custom h-pipe and bolt up a fox body catback?
or will it still not fit right?
JEGS makes a catback for the foxes for $185, and if an exhaust shop could get that to work on my 3.8, that would be a really cheap exhaust set up.
its the same price as the 99-04 kits JEGS makes, but the 99-04 dont include muffler tips, while the fox catback does.
im also worried about how the car would look with dual turndown tips though...any opinions of how that looks/might look (if any one has pics that would be great...i couldnt find any on google images)

they system has turbo mufflers, which i have heard on a v6 with a y pipe and catback and it sounded nice. but ive never heard the turbo mufflers on a v6 with an h pipe, so i am a little concerned about the sound.
and i do think it will look as you said "unique"

really?
ive heard that a muffler shop can bend an h-pipe and it would be the cheapest way to go with converting a v6 to true dual exhaust?
is this "bending an h-pipe" not the same as custom h pipe?

Shops generally will fabricate you an X or H pipe for $45-$60.

so i could be looking at around $250 for this set up. however, may look kind of weird with 2 turndown tips out of the back of an 03 stang. and the way i see it (i am new to cars though) it shouldnt sound bad, considering i like turbo mufflers on a v6 stang. but like i said earlier, ive only heard the y-pipe catback with turbo mufflers...

ya, i was about to address that.
would you recommend leaving the bumper without cut-outs or having the turndowns resting in the exhaust cut-outs (my friend can cut them out for me if i ask him to). ive never seen turndowns in exhaust cut-outs either...
any opinions?

Turn downs will look fine if thats what you want.
Tips are a lot better route to go for styling.
In the end... $20-$40 for tips.
You could also buy that exhaust, cut the pipe where the turndowns are, and run tips if you wanted.

What I would do/did:
Have the muffler shop fabricate the entire exhaust and find tips that you like.
Go Flowmaster 40's or Magnaflows... they are most commonly used for a reason. I went with Flows.

I would definately NOT go with cut-outs and put turndowns in them.

I would leave them hidden behind the bumper.

ya, i thought that would look weird, just wanted some outside input.
and im fine with the turndowns, i dont how the one looks, but thats not enough power/sound.
and i think im going to stick with the turbo mufflers, but if i dont like the sound then i will switch to flowmasters.

Ok then just buy the exhaust. Sounds like you're all set and decided. Good luck and hope everything fits right.
