V6 Mustang Fact

V6 mustangs are slow! I have a 2005 Mazda6 and this can take the mustang down. Even stock my car can still beat the mustang b/c i have CAI installed. Only the new V6s can be a challenge.

ok first there are tons of cars that are slow stock, with the right amount of money any car can be made fast. second a CAI wont help you at all unless you have a lot of other mods to work with it.. you may see a 1-3 hp difference with just the CAI. third why are you in a v6 mustang forum with a mazda6 dissing on v6 stangs? if you want to shoot your mouth off about v6 stangs then why dont you try to race AB? or look at the 9 and 10 second v6 mustangs from supersixmotorsports.com? our mustangs have WAY more potential then your mazda6 and if i took the money you spent on your mazda and put it in my stang i would be able to destroy your little mazda6

I have a car from 1984 with 243k non rebuilt mies that can chew your mazda 6 up like me eating captian crunch.

the Mazda 6 platform is a pos for anything performance, it is heavy, flexable, and has poor wieght distribution for fwd.

Go get an f'n miata or something worthwhile for performance troll.

wow you guys think your tough sh*t. First of all CAI gains are about 10-15 hp from an average aftermarket brand (for my car don't know about yours) heres an page that'll tell you http://forum.mazda6tech.com/viewtopic.php?t=25. 1-3 hp is a joke. My car stock (V6) can definitly take on a V6 mustang. There are people on my forum who have beaten mustangs at the track. This "family sedan" could kick your ass. With the CPE MAFci System, Headers and the unichip we're already talkin about 292 hp/251 ft-lb that'll smoke the stock GT (before 2005).

i can see where you are getting 10-15hp but you must realize that is at PEAK gains.. as stated in the forum. you WILL NOT see peak gains from your CAI with only the CAI.. once you have all other supporting mods then you will see the PEAK gain from the CAI. be reminded that yes the CAI lets more air into your car.. you also have to have the full exhaust set up to allow more air to flow out as well.. the intake can only suck in as much air as getting pushed out through the exhaust

ok the intake info was true, but exhaust will only give 4-5 hp/torque for my car b/c the factory didn't make the exhaust restricting. I'm getting magnaflow exhaust which will sound nice but mazda made the exhaust manifold very restricting. It would only get 4-5 hp because of little bigger pipes. But 10-15 isn't a peak gain, when I installed my CAI there was a very noticable performace difference (better throttle response and don't forget that awesome sound).
