V6 EGR Ports

Can anyone tell me or show me where the EGR ports are on the engine? I need to unclog them.

Thanks

Hey, Thanks, I was told there are small ports on the intake manifold that maybe clogged, thus forcing to much egr gases into my 1st spark plug.

check out the picture in the middle of this thread
EGR gas recirculation
I can see how it would be possible for one of those to get clogged but then you would just have less in 1 cylinder and slightly more in all the rest. Is your 1st spark plug fouling? Maybe that is the one that is clogged and you are running too rich on that cylinder.

I agree it seems odd that these can get clogged, so I am going to do these things: 1. Take off the intake runner like you have shown me and clean the holes out, put on a new ERG Valve 2. Do a compression Test if this is okay and there are no issues, then I will 3. Clean or replace the injectors

After that, I will be lost.

I do know that when I unplug the vacuum from the EGR, it does not seem to miss out underload like it did before... any ideas?

The EGR valve is the part in the picture to the left of the radiator hose with a part number starting with XL7E.

Missing under load could be a dirty plug. However, if disconnecting the EGR vacuum line makes it go away it could be a clogged EGR port. I believe you would have to remove the intake manifolds to clean that out.

You dont have to remove the intake manifolds to clean the EGR valve. Just take it off and clean it out
A common problem is for EGR valves to get coated in carbon and stick in one position. If you take off the EGR valve and tap the pintle against a table or something hard to break the carbon loose, then use carburetor cleaner (let soak for 1/2 hour or so) and clean it out, most of the time you'll fix it. If the vacuum diaphragm has failed, then there's nothing you can do to fix it.
