right exhaust?

Hey, I'm new to MM, I just got myself a new Mustang for 12 grand and do not have much money to spend after buying it. My one and only mod for awhile is going to be a new exhaust system because this stock exhaust just ain't cuttin' it. I want my car to be loud but deep. So I have been doing some research and have found something within my price range and that looks pretty easy to install.

the..1996-04 V6 Mustang 2.5" T-409 SS Cat-Back Exhaust System
found here at: http://blueovalindustries.bluekeyinc...p?pid=99012156

I know that for most people, their first mods would usually be an exhaust system with new headers, but i don't really see any benefits from new headers. So with this Cat-Back Exhaust system here, do you guys think I'll be getting the sound quality i'm looking for? I mean, i like the way the stang sounds on the sound clip, on that site.

here's my car by the way

Thanks to anyone that answers my questions, sorry if i'm like the hundredth person to ask something like this.

well, im sure that u never considered reading previous posts, are the exhaust forums, so ill break it down a little for you. 1. for performance go with a off road h or x pipe. 2. swap the stock headers and get longtubes or shorts ( most will prefer long tubes) then get some magna flow, or flow 40s. its all your choice. Hell, u could just get some new headers and get some str8 pipes and put on some flow 40s and u should be good. But as i always say, its your car, so its your choice. Im just voicing my opinion

... those are from the y pipe back... they are not 100% true duals... they should work and bolt right up for that matter... their might be a slight chance that you will need to have a hanger put in for the new tips... they should work and sound decent but not as nice as your car is capable of

If you want a good sound, or the best sound a sixer can make with the engine stock...don't get that. Don't get that anyways. Do something with a better midpipe, and an actual mid pipe. Something like an h-pipe or an x-pipe, and a catback of oyur choice. It will sound better, and perform better. No matter what if you want duals you will need new and more exhaust hangers, for it to fit right, and look right. Nobody likes saggy pipes.

Yeah, thats all I needed to hear...I think I'll just save up the extra cash and get something good.

Now, when I get a good system picked out, it is most likely going to require me to have a rear GT facia...so is it hard to lower the exhaust system a bit to not have to spend a few hundred bucks on a new rear facia.

thanks again for the help, it's much appreciated.

not to sound ignorrant cause i drive a six two and no offense but what the hell were u thinking buying a six banger for 12 grand you couldve got a cobra but whatever, as for exhaust get headers id go for an x-pipe then you can get any GT catback for the same year as yours, flow and mac sound good but every 6 you'll every c pretty much has them so take your pick i order SLP loudmouths with that setup so ill let you know you could go with borla stingers(S-type) i say be diffrent

I spent 12,000 on this because for one, I'm almost 18 and insurance would still be quite expensive for me if i got a v8. This stang is almost brand new with just under 15,000 miles. Blue booked at $15,500.
