i forgot what model it is but an upgrade is not neccessary. the auto tranny in the 99+ v6 can hold like 400rwhp. and then you can built the stock tranny to hold alot more.

you can do a Jmod if you haven't already.

4r70w, get a shift kit and stall before you upgrade the tranny like Stangcharger said.

doesnt even need to be a "built" 4r70w, like SC said, they can handled upwards of 400 hp stock.

Yea the stock 4R70W is pretty nice for an AODE. Do the J-Mod and get a stall converter and you will be good for track use. Adjusting the shift points with a DiabloSport Predator is a good idea too...

a jmod is a shift kit.

A b&m kit and a jmod kit are both shift kits, they just do the same task in a different way. You cant have both

I have a shift kit and a tuner to increase line pressure. Works great.

yea, you can do the jmod yourself, but there is a company that makes jmodded valve bodys that you swap in. then you have to send your stock valve body in. A b&m kit is just some springs and gaskets.

Yeah, it really did. It impresses alot of people (not being cocky at all) when you drive by a crowd and it chirps into gear. Plus, it makes your car feel completely different.

check garage for mods, i should be 13s but my wheels weigh alot.

Yea the B&M Valve Body Kit and the J-Mod are the same basically, but I would suggest doing the J-Mod and then getting either the DiabloSport Predator, SCT XCal, or Sniper Tuner to change your physical shift points and pressure.

With the tuner you can tell the pressure that it shifts and the point at which it shifts. The j-mod determines how quick it shifts (like a heel-toe shift versus a double clutch).

If you don't think you need the tuner, this is another good mod.

a shift kit "bangs" into gear where as a stock it "slides" into gear which puts more of a strain on the transmission. So under normal driving conditions a shift kit actually prolongs the life of your transmission if installed correctly.

a shift kit, higher stall, and a tuner is a good combo when doing some transmission stuff. It will def put a smile on your face. But if your going to do that make sure you build your rear end up first. It still isn't cool doing the one wheel peel or only chirping a tire instead of tires

word on the T-lock. and while doing that i reccomend 4.10 gears. with gears, j-mod, and tuner, your going to be very please with the outcome. and that tuner will gain some ponies as well.

if you want a stronger tranny get a lentech with an upgraded stall, the super street with a 2800 or 3000 stall is like a grand, or a shift kit, tuner, and ratchet shifter would be a good alternative
