i cant rememebr but i think i heard someone on these forums say they took off their v6 exhaust from the y-pipe and it sounds good... i was thinkin about doin that for a lil while but i dunno if it would work or not... opinions?

Thats how mine is right now. If you click the link on under my sig it will bring you to a video of my car and my buddies, also watch one of the other exhaust clips I have. Personally I'm not too happy. I love how loud, and how it sounds, but it rattles your car a lot, and does drone a whole lot. Remember it unhooks right below you.

This will do it. Just watch the vids I have. The sound quality is crappy, but it gives you a general idea.

lol I couldn't get the music as quiet as I wanted it though, and I didn't want to completely mute so it is louder. Also with your exhaust like this it will pop, crackle, gurgle, and all that fun stuff.

lol.. im looking to order some MAC long tubes, MAC off-road h-pipe, and MAC 2.5 cat back exhaust from the MAC web site... a good set-up IMO

My setup is gonna be JBA shorty headers, MAC catted h-pipe, and the MAC catback that is sittin next to me as we speak. I don't feel like messin with my k member to make the long tubes fit.

im kinda thinkin about just getting duals from the y-pipe back... im not lookin for much performance.. just looks since ill be having a kid.. ill prolly get it lookin good then sell it for another newer stang or somethin...

ok heres a question... i think this would work but im not sure... what if i got the cat back system from the y-pipe back... would i be able to later get headers and an h/x pipe and make it fit? i believe a custom exhaust shop would be able to do that

I think the only difference in the y pipe dual and the h or x pipe duals are the flow pipes. So it should work, but I really wouldn't go with the y-pipe duals...it won't sound good.

i see... i would like to get an x/h pipe then duals after... and get shorties later but shipping to alaska is killer... i have 2 flowmaster mufflers but i dont know if there is an exhaust shop up here to make the exhaust for em lol

well i just got an estimate... $375 for a full exhaust system.. h-pipe uncatted and duals with my flowmaster 40 series mufflers all welded on.. not too bad if you ask me

Not bad, but they prob use aluminum so after a while it will rust.

he told me what they use.. but i forgot lol.. it wasnt aluminum though.. he said it was really good quality and will last a long time... this is an island so we haveta use good quality stuff cuz of all the salt in the air from the ocean

... you might have to chop it up a bit to make the y pipe duals fit an h or x pipe... a shop could make something costum with out cats that could sound killer
