should i sell the six?

my dad has a 96 gt that he said he would give me if i sell my 2000 v6 and give him the money. the gt has a new engine from ford with about 5000 miles on it and my sixxer has 106k. a friend of mine told me i was wasting my time because the older gt isn't as powerful as a newer one. is this true? what should i do?

sell your 6 and take your dad's gt. i would do that if i were in your shoes. unless the car had sentimental value to me. then it would be a more difficult choice

If you're even considering thinking of letting the six go then I'd say do it. What is it going to hurt? It's a bigger engine with fewer miles. You might look into how much you think you can get for your car- then maybe considering how much this 'trade' is worth.

Unless you have some kind of attatchment to the body style - I'd say invest some further interest in it.

Why is your dad wanting to part with his GT?

how much money is he talking??

cause naturally, you would have to do a PI swap and then full bolt ons, but still, a V8 is a V8 no matter what.

either way, his gt is only worth maybe $500 more then yours with the engine work done.

i was in the exact same position with my 95 gt. I traded my dad my 01 v6 for the 95 gt and it was a very good decision. i would do it if i were you, you wont regret it if you do. And it was the first car that i paid for and ever got.

get the gt. Do the PI Swap as mentioned above, and you will have a quicker, more reliable car.

he just doesn't have time to drive it and he was going to sell it but he said he would rather me have it cuz he knows i want a gt.

94-98 4.6 v8s were non pi. 99-04 were 4.6 PI, or Performance Improved motors with PI heads, intake, and *drawing a blank*. You can buy PI kits for 94-98 motors and get the extra hp. Most do it.

good decision.

mainly for the less miles. other than that not awhole lot of gains HP wise. ive seen lots make 185-190rwhp stock on those style GT's.

do the PI swap and then look to go forced induction if you want to continue gaining, much else motor wise isnt worth awhole lot for the money spent.
