Air Silencer?

Well, just read instructions for free air...removal of air silencer. But, instructions were for '96-'97. Mine is 2002. Can I remove the air silencer leaving one end of box open?

Thanks

huh?.... k the air silencer is just a rubber moldering to help keep stuff from being sucked into your air fliter and well keep it quieter. anyways yea you can do it.

just take that whole air intake box out and you'll see the rubber moldeing it;s pretty much the same as for the 96-97 . then just put it back to where everything was.

yeah, that's where I stumbled onto the instructions and mine does look exactly the same. It almost seems like it will pull right off, but I didn't mess with it much. I also will be replacing the cai...within a couple of weeks, weather permitting....if it turns real cold, I'll wait.

Any detriment to removing it?
