Auto or manual?

Aright, I just talked to a relative of mine who bought an 01 v6 mustang with a manual transmission. If there's the possibility of trading transmissions with him transmissions) ,and maybe an install fee, would it better to keep it auto and build it a little, or go to the manual? I just really like driving a manual, which is the only reason I'm considering. Any input is appreciated. Thanks for the help

just trade him cars?

its ridiculous to swap trannies, thats a lot of money for no real gain other then driving enjoyment... save your money and buy a GT with a manual later in life.

Yeah from what i understand an auto/manual tranny swap is almost a big of a pain in the ass as a v6/v8 engine swap. Save up (or sell the car) and buy a manual GT

Swapping cars would be your best bet, but a trans swap isn't all that hard. In my opinion, it is hands down the best mod I've done and probably better than any mod I'll do in the future. You gain driving enjoyment, slightly better mpg(depending on your driving style of course) and half a second in the quarter mile. I'd say that's awesome.

if you build the auto up...nobody will be outshifting you. Really depends on what your looking for out of the car. But don't swap transmissions. Unless your doing something like a 6 speed swap.

in a mustang honestly, build the auto, the 4r70w is an amazing transmission and frankly I hate the manual gearbox in the mustang, t-5 t-6 w/e I hate them all.

Get a nice upped stall torque converter, a shiftkit, B&M ratchet shifter, and have one darn fast shift

J-mod IMO. heard to many good things. plus a stock 4r70w can hold around 400rwhp in stock trim.

Manual is much better imo, you get much more control over the car. Unless you're planning on going to the drag strip a lot I wouldnt think it would matter how fast you can shift. But, its gonna be a real pita to swap trannys.

in the mustang man the auto is better especially once you start working on it.
it shifts faster, it is just as strong if not stronger, and a B&M ratchet shifter just looks sexy

Studies show that 92% of kids listen to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listens to real music put this in your signature.

damn, half a second! in that case every auto would do manual swaps!

i love my auto, dont have to worry about missing that infamous gear that causes a lot of people to lose! just get a sct change your shift points and you'll be launching like crazy and people swear i have gears on my car and i have stock gearing
dont get me wrong, manuals are fun to drive (my first auto) but if you really want a manual then like everyone else, trade cars or get you a manual GT

not with the ratchet shifter you have total control over your gears
