Rear Seat Delete
I was looking into this as a way to add more space to my 99 stang. Its a convertable so trunk space is limited. Has anyone had this done. Pros, Cons, constructive criticism? RearSeatDelete.com has them at 169.99 for a limited time.

removing the seats is easy (3 bolts for head rest, 4 for seats, 2 torx for seatbelts, but the rear seat delete kit just saves weight and replaces the stock rear seat. it does not add any space...

I have seen a kit that adds extra storage where the stock seats used to be. The bottom folds up and lets you put stuff in the space where all the padding used to be. I'll see if I can find it again.

How much weight do you lose by doing it?
What about taking out like the AC too? Whats that worth for weight? I heard alot of people doing that too for losing some weight. I know I just switched the conversation but was just wondering |

Not much weight, the delete kit just makes it look a little more decent. It doesn't add any real space though. I'd advise you only do it if you really need to loose a few pounds.
I've seen people put huge sub boxes in their trunk, then complain their too heavy on the track (seriously) and pull the back seat out

yes, many kits allow for storage under the "seat" portion, and a hinged version would be a good idea
the a/c is not weight issue for the most part. you would be better off running a shorter belt and bypassing the a/c til summer- unless you really dont need a/c...

... can you do that?? get a shorter belt and not worry about the a/c??
that would save a lot of rotational friction

I cant stand the humidity in the house, dont mind it outside, or in the car, but not in the house ugh nothing is more annoying than that, or uncomfortable for that matter.
