Engine abuse.

I was reving my engine in the drive way when i was waiting for my bro to get in i was reving to the max of the limiter(4krpm) then he told me that if I keep doing that i'll blow the engine is this true ? Also is pushing the petal all the way to the floor on take off bad for the engine?

Yeah i would say its bad if your basically just bouncing off the rev limiter. Any kind of abuse is abuse I would assume, just like beating the sh*t out of your car, yeah its fun, but over time its gonna get pissed at ya lol

I dont know, I never just rev my car. I love when people are warming their car up that way when its winter, first thing they do with a cold car is get in, start it and rev the shit out of it, thats not good I dont care who says its alright, but it isnt....

any high revs or extreme conditions are bad for the motor and corresponding parts. but it is a mustang, so do so sparingly. i used to beat the shit out of my car all the time, but shit kept breaking. now that it runs strong and reliably, i rarely break 2500 rpms on the street.

yeah, you pay to play, so keep the playing to a minimum (as hard as it may be). i learned this the hard way too. i went to the track every thurs for 3 months straight last year and got 5 runs a night. didnt take long to tear up the intake manifold gaskets and tranny...

Probably didnt think a bitch could drive

How about with a GT do they make them stronger to with stand the abuse? Because I'll probably be buying/leasing a new mustang GT in 2 years or so. I find this a disappointment I thought since it's a sportscar that it would be made to put up with this.

It can handle it, but anything your going to purposely beat the shit out of, is just number one retarded to beat something past the point of being careful. Why waste the investment. I mean obviously you can have fun with it, but if your going to do it every time you pull away from a red light or stop sign or just sit there and rev the hell out of it, in time your going to have to pay for the wear and tear.
Just do it "responsibly" lol

i agree with Queenie on that... be responsible and let your car last a lot longer... dont do stupid things like sit there and rev it or floor it at every red light... thats a big ricer thing to do (it was back home anyway)

Thanks 3.8 that was my other point lol.... I just forgot to mention it. But really, thats all that I see doing it, because they think they need to. If you have a REAL car you dont need to make it obvious or whatever the point is, I dont know actually. I have a semi loud exaust and I really dont feel the need to rev it, or whatever, like I said only time I screw around is if someone really wants to race or is just being stupid. thats it

Not here every body floors it lol. But I don't beat the shit out of my car though . I just like to take off fast it's fun like ripping around turns at 30mph it's not that i'm a ricer I don't care who's watching I just think it's fun. I don't do it every time i'm driving though only when i'm in the mood to do so. I don't or ever will go to the track too no body does around here. So my car is a street car we have several straight roads we race on we get up and over 100mph. This one kid with a cobra got his up too 153mph before slowing down
