no what would happen potentially is that you would run lean instead.

if your maf reads *(fictional numbers for example) 40 pounds of pressure, it dumps 40 pounds of fuel. Now that you have that hole, you have 50 pounds of (air)pressure and only 40 pounds of fuel resulting in boom. This is an extreme, but why take the chance over something that can be fixed with a piece of good tape or a rubber plug?

anything messing with your A/F will result in your fuel economy.

Like I said.. a simple piece of electrical tape would work for now.

lol i did it for the exhaust sound improvement. besides i checked today after i drove for about 30 mins straight and i touched the intake with my finger and it was barely warm and it was bout 65 here today. i know it doesn't result in huge power gains or anything like that but i can tell a difference in the acceleration for sure. as far as the material like aluminum it really isnt any different than one from another model cai other than when i got it the plate that attaches to the maf was a little bent but it comes out easy when i screwed it on (carefully). like the guys said on here earlier a tubes a tube. it works fine and im satisfied with it. my friend has a k&n on his and it whistles like a fricken train and we both have the same acceleration gains from them.
lol but everyone is entitled to their opinion not tryin to be a jerk or anything but as far as i can tell it works just the same as a name brand one. again i reccomend it to anyone who reads this .

seems good for now but if u do get plugs make sure it is an airtight fit in there, u dont want to small of one that will fall into the intake if you hit a bump.

ya, i have been thinking about that...although i should be able to find one that is skinny at the bottom with a larger top end so it wont do that.

For the S197s they do but for the new edges they do not. Trust me I looked all over the place for a JLT, I would love to have one but sadly there is not one at all
