V6 exhaust question
I have the chance to buy a MAC catback exhaust setup for a 94-04 mustang gt or cobra. It is in good shape, with chrome tips, for $100. I am new to modding and was wondering if this setup would work on a 2004 3.9. What kind of modification would need to be made make it work? If this won't work then I will probably just buy Flowmaster 40's.

you would have to buy an adapter b/c they are for the v8. Or you could spend $280 and buy a brand new one made for the v6.

What type of adapter would I need and about how much do they cost? Just trying to save money where I can so I can buy more goodies.

If the mac is in good shape, take it to a local shop as stated above, but all they'll really need to do is fab up a mid-pipe (x or h). Does the mac catback come with a catted mid-pipe? If so, you could choose to go the o/r (off road) route meaning no cats, then in tern, sell the cats to a scrap yard and essintially, make your money back off doing your whole exhaust.

must be off of a GT, or something with a live axle in the rear. the IRS cobras have different set ups for the exhaust.

Thanks for the info. Anyone know what the laws with the cats are in Missouri? I also have the chance to buy a used o/r h-pipe for $100.00 and put that with the MAC cat back.

That is the one downside. You have to "know a guy" to get inspected. Or, just find a shop that doesn't mind inspecting o/r pipes.
